AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted December 27, 2011 In response to online speculation that ESPN NFL analyst Jon Gruden would return to coaching, ESPN spokesman Bill Hofheimer says that Gruden "signed a multi-year extension with ESPN this fall and remains committed to being a part of Monday Night Football for many years." Also, MNF's season ended on a ratings downer. Its Falcons-Saints game, despite including Drew Brees breaking DanMarino's 27 year-old NFL passing yardage season record, drew a 9.5 overnight, which translates to 9.5% of households in the 56 urban markets measured for overnights. That's down 21% from comparable coverage of a game between the same teams last year.

Source: USA Today

SteVo+ 3,702 Posted December 27, 2011 I don't think Gruden has a strong incentive to return to coaching (right now) unless he finds a spot he really likes. He's making head coach money with ESPN, and his job is 100x easier with way less responsibility. All he has to do is tell Jaws how great the players on the field are every week.
