Turry 755 Posted February 22, 2012 The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Mark Bradley predicts the Falcons will apply the franchise tag to free agent CB Brent Grimes. The columnist concedes it's a "semi-educated guess," which is noteworthy just a few days after beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter reported the Falcons will be "reluctant" to use the tag on Grimes. It's a tough decision for GM Thomas Dimitroff, as Grimes saw a downtick in interceptions, missed four games with a knee injury, and turns 29 in July. Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Mark Bradley expects the Falcons to keep Michael Turner for 2012. Bradley is a columnist with a "semi-educated guess" as opposed to working the Falcons beat. While he addresses Turner's non-existent trade value, Bradley skirts over the possibility of the Falcons flat-out releasing the 30-year-old back due $5 million while running on fumes. It's a lot of money to pay a player looking at a reduced role. Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution
ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted February 22, 2012 This is great news....hopefully we can get Grimes to a long term deal eventually...all I want to know now is what's going on with Lofton...
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted February 22, 2012 Headline is a little misleading. There's just an Atlanta journalist speculating that the Falcons will tag Grimes.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted February 26, 2012 Brent Grimes is a very good CB, and he deserves to be paid... But franchising him is not the way to go.
