BradyFan81 404 Posted March 16, 2014 My favorite baseball player. Definitely a top 3 2nd baseman in the MLB, could make a case for him being the best with how good he is defensively. Tore a ligament in his thumb in the 1st game of the season last year which was why he didn't have much power numbers, expect him to return to a 450-480 SLG% this year. Sarge+ 3,436 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Yea, I'd say Cano, Pedroia, Carpenter, Zobrist, and Kipnis are the top 5 second basemen in the league right now. Kinsler and Phillips lurk just outside the top 5 in my mind and could play like top 5 second basemen at any time still. Utley is never healthy so I can't put him up there anymore.
