FartWaffles 1,857 Posted November 12, 2015 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4171/patrick-willis Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports retired MLB Patrick Willis is "considering a comeback." Willis said there was a "zero" percent chance he would un-retire in March, but it would not be the first time an athlete changed their mind. Cole cautioned Willis is still dealing with the toe issue which played a role in his retirement, and it certainly is not guaranteed he returns. Willis will turn 31 in January. He had 950 tackles and 20.5 sacks across eight seasons with the 49ers.

FartWaffles 1,857 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) SF still retains his rights, yes? They never released him. They put him on the Reserve/Retired list. Edit: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/11/12/patrick-willis-rejects-notion-hes-thinking-about-a-comeback/ Patrick Willis rejects notion hes thinking about a comeback Though a toe injury had bothered him, it was still a bit of a surprise when 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis announced his retirement this offseason. And while Bleacher Report suggested Willis had not closed the door on a possible return, Willis himself slammed it shut. Via Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, Willis gave it the full-bore, all-caps social media smack-down this afternoon (apologies in advance for the assault on your eyeballs). I MADE MY DECISION BACK IN APRIL. AND I HAVENT THOUGHT TWICE ABOUT . . . PLAYING ANOTHER DOWN IN THE NFLPERIOD‼‼‼ he wrote, rather subtly I might add. SO QUIT TRYING TO BRING LIFE; on a CHAPTER that I have already CLOSED IN MY HEART and MIND. The five-time All Pro linebacker is just 30, so a comeback wouldnt have been inconceivable. At least until Willis himself said it was. Edited November 12, 2015 by FartWaffles
