Part of my argument for being against transgenders using whichever bathroom they choose is it normalizes people who don't seem to fit the bathroom they're in being in said bathroom, which could open up potential for harassment or sexual assault. But I'm not going to say that we should just stop all pedos because that obviously won't ever happen cause pedos gonna pedo. Your argument is a non sequitur. It doesn't follow. In one case, you are making a law that states rape is illegal. In the other, you are not making a law that pedophilia is illegal, you are making a law that you claim will help stop and/or reduce pedophilia. Whether or not point B logically follows point A depends on the veracity of your second claim. And if you really look into it, that claim is nothing but propaganda and fear-mongering. The conservative argument that this bathroom law will prevent some pedophile attacks is based on nothing. There is absolutely no statistical evidence that allowing transgender people to use the restroom will result in more sexual assaults *inside restrooms* than otherwise. None. The conservative argument is designed for one purpose: to force an individual's religious beliefs that transgenders are somehow wrong- merely by their existence- on someone else. They know that type of argument will not work in the courts- and hopefully with most people as well- so they rephrase it as "think of the kids!" If you boil the argument down to its brass tacks, it's really nothing more than bigotry in its purest form. 10 years ago, people were crying foul about gay people being allowed in the same restroom as straights. 50 years ago, people were crying foul about black people using the same restrooms as whites. Those people were on the wrong side of history 50 years ago, they were on the wrong side of history 10 years ago, and they are on the wrong side of history now.
