Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) The Green Bay Packers didn't want to pay Josh Sitton, but they ponied up the dough to lock down their starting left tackle. The team announced Tuesday that they signed David Bakhtiari. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported it is a four-year extension worth up to $51.67 million. The new money averages to $12 million per season, which places Bakhtiari in the top five for offensive linemen. Bakhtiari has performed well on Aaron Rodgers' blind side and is still improving just four years into his young career. Thompson locked down one of the best young offensive tackles to what should look like a bargain in about seven months. NFL.com Also, I read that Josh Sitton was becoming poisonous in the locker room. After he was told his contract was not a priority, he was sometimes silently and not-so-silently being a distraction to coaches and some of his teammates began copying his behavior, so he had to be let go. SteVo+ 3,702 Posted September 13, 2016 Re: Sitton So the Packers made a tough decision to get rid of a good player so they could sign a great player? That's what the great teams do.
