SteVo+ 3,702 Posted April 29, 2011 Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff confirmed that Julio Jones is expected to take on a major offensive role as a rookie."Our expectation with this move is we believe Julio can come on to the football team and contribute from Day 1," Dimitroff said. "What he adds to our receiver group is an element of play-making explosiveness." You can knock Dimitroff for overpaying, but he knew he wasn't a legit contender with just one offensive playmaker. The addition of Jones at least gives him a chance to contend before key aging players fall off the cliff. Source: NFL.com No surprise here. I'll bet Jones is one of the higher rookies taken in fantasy football leagues this year.
Barracuda 629 Posted April 29, 2011 Yeah, Falcons think they have the tools to be a legit Superbowl contender, and they do. With a few defensive pieces I think they could give everyone a run for their money.
BucD+ 648 Posted April 29, 2011 God I hope Jones busts so bad...that would be epically hilarious. Julio's hands are inconsistant (the Bama games I saw atleast) so hopefully that doesn't change.
