BLUE 1,026 Posted August 30, 2011 Free agent NT Pat Williams is drawing interest from the Patriots.Williams has received no known interest on the open market other than from the Vikings. New England has been kicking the tires on just about every veteran free agent this offseason, so it's unclear if they have serious interest. According to ESPN's John Clayton, the Pats "might" bring Williams in for a visit this weekend. Aug 30 - 12:29 PM Source: John Clayton on Twitter
Patriots2994 43 Posted August 30, 2011 Interesting. New England's already signed 3 vets for their D-line. I wonder if this means Haynesworth or Ellis are about to go, or if Williams is just somebody they'd like to put on the line as well. He still has gas in the tank-he could be a solid contributer. BwareDWare94 723 Posted August 30, 2011 This could be bad. He might weigh 400 pounds right now.

Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted August 31, 2011 YES. ANOTHER DEFENSIVE LINEMAN ABOVE THE AGE OF 35. loving these signings. Doubt he'll be signed.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted August 31, 2011 He is probably wayyyyy out of shape... But that is what he is best at. Just being a big fat dude holding down as the anchor of the defensive line. He may be declining, but I think he can STILL yield effective results.
KeVo 176 Posted August 31, 2011 It's hard to move a 400 lb. guy. He'd still be great in short yard and goal line situations.
BC 331 Posted August 31, 2011 Do they make jerseys in his new size? Seems like they're already overloaded. Got Wilfork, Haynesworth, and they retained Ty Warren, yeah?

Ty Warren was signed by the Broncos in free agency, and he's toast for the year, IMO: http://www.thegridironpalace.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52202-mri-confirms-dt-ty-warren-has-a-torn-triceps/page__view__findpost__p__2348582__hl__%22ty+warren%22__fromsearch__1.... Patriots2994 43 Posted August 31, 2011 Yeah there's no way Warren is playing anytime before December, if that, with his torn triceps. Belichick didn't know this would happen, but things always seem to look like the right move after they're made by Belichick. I was initially pretty disappointed they let him go but now I'm sighing with relief. Best wishes to Ty Warren with a good recover.
