BLUE 1,026 Posted January 25, 2012 Per Rotoworld.com: Updating a previous item, the 49ers are expected to release CB Shawntae Spencer this offseason. We initially speculated that the Niners might dangle Spencer on the trade market, but they're expected to cut ties with an unhappy player due $3.2 million. Current Texans DBs coach Vance Joseph tutored Spencer from 2005 until 2010, the last of which was Spencer's career year. After he's released, Spencer could become a candidate to replace free agent Jason Allen in Houston. Jan 25 - 2:18 PM Source: Matt Maiocco on Twitter

Bay 2,003 Posted January 26, 2012 I thought they released him two years ago I wish. He had one GOOD year in 2009 and everyone was all over him. Just a mediocre corner is all.
Pwillie52 79 Posted January 26, 2012 I thought they released him two years ago Nah, he played last year (at least from what I remember) You might be thinking of Clements to the Bengals. But yeah, we don't need him. I didn't really ever like him either. He had a good year where he got a couple picks, but other than that he was not very good. Our DB's we have now are way better.
