BLUE 1,026 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: Giants agreed to terms with LB Chase Blackburn on a one-year contract.Blackburn, 29 in June, closed out last season as the Giants' starting middle linebacker. While he won't retain the role, Blackburn came up with a huge interception of Tom Brady in Super Bowl XLVI and should earn a roster spot as a backup and special teamer. He finished 2011 with 26 tackles on defense. Apr 13 - 6:06 PM Source: Mike Garafolo on Twitter Edited April 13, 2012 by BLUE

NYGIANTSFLYHIGH 1 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Interesting move considering they just traded for Keith Rivers. Maybe they're not moving Boley inside after all? Rumblings are that Rivers contract was restructured. He had an option in it for 2013 the rumor is he took a pay cut and turned the option into an extension. No details on it yet but hopefully over the weekend. Also the Giants source that "requested ananimity" also said the plan was to move him inside, keep Boley at Will but continue to let Boley have the helmet headset and position the defense. Now looks like Chase was signed as insurance for Rivers which makes me feel exponentially better about the Rivers trade because of the restructuring and keeping Boley where he belongs.... Aside from that, Chase played great in the few games he returned for and has been one of those lunch pail guys for us for years, I'm glad they didn't wait til week 10 to bring him back this time, and he's welcomed with open arms Welcome back Chase.....welcome back Edited April 13, 2012 by NYGIANTSFLYHIGH
