In 20 years most American's are going to be poor. This is sickening.
OSUViking 505 Posted October 19, 2013 It's crazy that the same people calling for less burden on tax-payers are defending Walmart here.

Bucman 891 Posted October 19, 2013 Places like Walmart could easily pay employees 10+ an hour to work. I do think its stupid to be complaining about work right now when so many people would love to just have a job somewhere. The only people making min. wage should be people who make tips.

Guest Phailadelphia Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) People are defending Wal-Mart's behavior? That's sad. In one of the links, there is a rep from a retail interest group that is calling this a job-killing measure. Which is actually kind of funny. If the alternative to higher paid employees is closing up shop, which do you think firms will do? It's an especially stupid statement when you consider many firms CEOs make more money in a year than most people can spend in a lifetime. And get multi-millionaire dollar retirement packages. But yeah, paying their minimum wage employees more is totally going to put them out of business or force mass lay-offs. Flawless logic. Costco laughs at that. They pay employees really well for a retail job and have all sorts of benefits for working there.
OSUViking 505 Posted October 29, 2013 Costco laughs at that. They pay employees really well for a retail job and have all sorts of benefits for working there. When we were learning about equilibrium wages and minimum wages, our teacher brought them up. It's pretty interesting how they run. I wish I had a Costco near me; the only one I've been to is in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota.
