Cherry 1,302 Posted February 21, 2014 With an insanely fast group of players this year, is there any chance that someone is gonna top CJ's record? I think that De'Anthony Thomas has a very solid shot at hitting a 4.23 or 4.22.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted February 21, 2014 This should just be renamed to general combine thread since we don't have one. But, IDT its gonna happen. Thomas might get close, but if guys like Tavon couldn't do it, I doubt it'll happen.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted February 21, 2014 It's hard to say with the "official" times being taken with a grain of salt to the scouts that want to see it with their own eyes and use a stopwatch. Though there are a lot of speedsters with the potential to break it... De'Anthony Thomas Dri Archer Brandin Cooks Justin Gilbert ^ Just a few names that come to mind. Cherry 1,302 Posted February 21, 2014 I highly doubt that he will, but if Gilbert does he is a guaranteed lock for the first 15 picks IMO.

Yeah of the players I listed, I'd say he's the least likely. Also forgot to mention Colorado WR Paul Richardson.

Bucman 891 Posted February 22, 2014 Dri Archer may. I think Thomas runs in the 4.3 range.
CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Honestly I think Dri's legs are too short to beat him since 40 yards favors long striders. Similar problem Tavon had last year in trying to challenge it. I figure Gilbert, DAT or Richardson have a shot. .AirMcNair. 1,232 Posted February 23, 2014 Won't be shocked if(when?) someone beats CJ's time. What they're gonna have to do to truly match/beat CJ in speed is replicate his in-game speed. A lot of guys can go out there and look like speed demons in shorts and a shirt, then get in pads and put on the field and get caught from behind/get left in the dust like it's nothing. CJ may very well be the fastest NFL player(in pads) we've ever seen.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted February 23, 2014 Dri Archer came close. His official time was a 4.26.
