BwareDWare94 723 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) As much as most of us love music, I thought it'd be fun to look into nominations for the greatest songwriters that make the music we all love possible in the first place. List your nominations in this thread, and I'll assemble a tournament that coincides with the other greatest [insert term here] threads. Quick note: If you're unsure of whether an artist you like writes his or her own material, it's as simple as looking up their discography on Wikipedia and clicking on singular albums. By the track listing there's almost always songwriter credits. If there aren't credits next to the tracks, there's often a line in the paragraph above that says "All music written by..." Anyway, here are my nominations: Waylon Jennings Merle Haggard Jason Isbell Sturgill Simpson Jamey Johnson J. I'll try to list more, later. Let's try keep the maximum nominations to 25 per poster, though. Otherwise, it might get too overwhelming.
