Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 7, 2017 The Cleveland Browns will replace Ray Horton as their defensive coordinator, but have yet to fill the position, a source told FOX Sports' Alex Marvez. Cleveland apparently offered the job to Gregg Williams, who currently serves as the Los Angeles Rams' defensive coordinator, Marvez reports. The Browns have also contacted Wade Phillips about the position, adds Marvez. Phillips' contract with the Denver Broncos expired at the end of the season. http://www.thescore.com/news/1201789
Zack_of_Steel+ 3,014 Posted January 7, 2017 (edited) Ray Horton made his break finally signing as DC for Arizona, got passed over for HC in favor of Arians, and then embarked on a trail of misery and losing by signing on as DC in Cleveland, then Tennessee, then BACK to Cleveland. When he returned to Cleveland I said that I had no idea what the fuck he was doing. Was he hoping to end up with a HC job? Who fucking knows, but after all that he just got shitcanned by the 1-15 Browns. It's sad--I always thought he did a great job in Pittsburgh as DB coach and his work in ARZ put their D on the map. Hopefully he'll find success, but his resume looks like shit now. Might have to take some time off. Edited January 7, 2017 by Zack_of_Steel
Barracuda 629 Posted January 7, 2017 He shouldn't take all the blame, but that defense was piss poor the whole season and I was hoping they would get rid of him. Just an overall lack of talent on both sides of the ball. They really need to nail free agency and the draft if they want to have a chance at winning more than one game next season
Bucman 891 Posted January 8, 2017 (edited) I wonder if Wade Phillips bumped the Browns call to voice mail Edited January 8, 2017 by WhoDak?

I think there is hope though, to work his way back up. Guys have been getting more chances it seems like in the coaching ranks. Hue Jackson is a HC again, sounds like Tom Cable is going to get a few interviews. He just needs to slow down... Sometimes you need to take a step back in order to take two steps forward.

Bucman 891 Posted January 8, 2017 https://twitter.com/JasonLaCanfora/status/817914079520161792Ill take caution because of the source. But at least the Browns defense will be somewhat interesting to watch for once. Wonder who gonna get the first bounty
