BLUE 1,026 Posted April 28, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: The Philadelphia Daily News confirms that the Eagles are "very, very unlikely" to be able to trade Kevin Kolb on Thursday.Per the Daily News, the lockout will informally continue until the Eighth Circuit Court rules on whether the unenforced "stay" of Judge Nelson's injunction should be enforced. As ESPN's Chris Mortensen has said, Eagles fans should be a bit peeved at owner Jeffrey Lurie. The owners' side has refused to go back to business until the appellate court rules, so Philly isn't going to get a 2011 first-round pick for their backup quarterback. westbrookforsix 28 Posted April 29, 2011 Hes not worth a first rounder. I said it before. He's worth a high 2nd. He does make more mistakes than you'd like to see, but he hasn't had a lot of time on the field in live action. Aaron Rodgers wasn't instantly as good as he is now either, no player is. Also, that article is going to talk about "rate" when the sample you have to judge it on is only 4 games??? One was against the Ravens when McNabb got benched and he did awful. He had two great games vs. the Chiefs and Falcons, and two not so good games vs. the Saints (still threw 300 yds, but also 3 INT's) and Packers. Also notice that all of them have been playoff teams in the last 2 seasons.
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted April 29, 2011 We could still pull of a trade to Arizona and get Patrick Peterson out of the deal. Just sayin'.

BLUE 1,026 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted by GarryCobb ProFootball Weekly reported yesterday that the Eagles had a deal in place with Arizona Cardinals which involved Birds backup quarterback Kevin Kolb. The would have sent Kolb to the Cardinals and in return the Eagles would have received an undisclosed assortment of compensation. That deal has been put to the side due to the NFL Lockout and ongoing court battle between the NFL owners and the NFL Players Association. “The Eagles, sources told PFW, had a potential deal in place to trade QB Kevin Kolb to the Cardinals before the draft, but those plans changed when veterans were not allowed to be dealt. It’s very possible, however, that the Cardinals and Eagles could reignite those trade talks" Source: GCOBB.com
BLUE 1,026 Posted May 2, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: SI's Peter King reiterated that the Eagles have an offer on the table of a first-round pick in the 2012 draft for Kevin Kolb. The Cardinals, Seahawks and Dolphins all failed to draft a quarterback last week. As soon as the lockout is lifted, the Kolb discussions figure to kick into high gear. If King's report is true, it shouldn't take long for a deal to get done. A first-round pick is a great offer for the Eagles' backup quarterback. Related: Cardinals, Seahawks Source: SI.com May 2, 11:54 AM
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted May 3, 2011 Coach Andy Reid is denying reports that he has an offer on the table for Kevin Kolb. It's exactly what we'd expect Reid to say, considering teams aren't technically allowed to talk trade during the lockout. His history suggests he has a hard time telling the truth on his QB situation, though. We've seen several internet rumors suggesting the Cardinals and Eagles have already agreed to the parameters of a Kolb deal. As is the case with all ambiguous trade rumors, skepticism is advised. Source: Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter Now that Reid has denied it, it's basically a lock that Kolb gets traded.
BLUE 1,026 Posted May 3, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: ESPN's Adam Schefter considers the Cardinals the clear favorites to trade for Kevin Kolb.Schefter believes there's "no doubt" the Eagles will deal Kolb, almost certainly to the Cardinals or Seahawks. "Right now, all signs point to Kevin Kolb somehow finding his way to Arizona," said Schefter, "which would make Larry Fitzgerald very happy, which would make the Cardinals an instant contender in the NFC West." This has been our read on the Kolb situation for some time. The return package figures to be a 2012 first-rounder plus another mid-round pick. Turry 755 Posted May 4, 2011 According to FOX Sports' Adam Caplan, it will be a "small upset" if the Cardinals don't land Kevin Kolb this offseason. The Seahawks also want Kolb, but Arizona is considered his most likely landing spot at this point. Caplan suspects that the Eagles "will want a starting player" plus a 2012 first-round pick for Kolb. Interesting prospects for Philly on the Cards' roster may include Greg Toler, a 26-year-old 13-game starter last season, or perhaps Beanie Wells after Arizona drafted Ryan Williams. westbrookforsix 28 Posted May 4, 2011 I feel like teams are way less stingy about dealing draft picks when the draft is so far away. I don't think he would have gotten a 1st before this draft, and his value just spiked. It probably ended up better that we weren't allowed to deal him before this draft. Turry 755 Posted May 6, 2011 The Cleveland Plain Dealer does not expect the Browns to join the bidding for Kevin Kolb once transactions are allowed.Kolb has an obvious connection with Browns GM Tom Heckert, who was the Eagles' GM when Kolb was drafted in 2007. But Cleveland is going to give Colt McCoy a try. We expect Kolb to land in either Arizona or Seattle at this point. BLUE 1,026 Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: The Arizona Republic suggests that the Cardinals would "be interested" in surrendering Matt Schaub-type compensation in a proposed trade for Kevin Kolb.Per beat writer Kent Somers, however, the Cards are "leery" of what the aggressive Eagles front office will ask for. Schaub was sent to Houston in 2007 for two second-round picks and a first-round swap from No. 8 overall to No. 10. Roughly, the Schaub trade equated to 800 "points" on the NFL Value Chart. 800 points is worth the 26th overall pick in the draft. BLUE 1,026 Posted May 19, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: ESPN's Adam Schefter predicts that the Eagles will get a first-round pick "and then some" in a trade for Kevin Kolb.FOX Sports' Adam Caplan previously suggested a first-rounder and a starter on defense. The Cardinals are expected to lead off the bidding, and Greg Toler is rumored to be on the block if they fork over a defender in addition to the first-round pick in 2012. We suspect that is overpayment, but Arizona is desperate for a quarterback and apparently envisions Kolb as franchise caliber. BucD+ 648 Posted May 19, 2011 According to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, Kevin Kolb being traded to the Cardinals is "a slam dunk as much as you can have a slam dunk."Arizona is certainly the frontrunner. The interesting part is going to be what sort of compensation Philadelphia gets. The Seahawks are also expected to show interest, but may balk at offering high draft picks after surrendering them in last year's Charlie Whitehurst trade. If the Cards end up bidding against themselves, it's hard to imagine them having to fork over the speculated Kolb value of a 2012 first-rounder and starter on defense. BLUE 1,026 Posted May 20, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that one NFL team offered the Eagles "more than a first-round pick for Kevin Kolb last offseason. We suspect it was the Browns or Seahawks, although Schefter didn't provide specifics. "Last offseason, there was a team willing to give them more than a first-round pick," Schefter said. "And that's what's going to happen this offseason." Schefter reiterated that Arizona is the clear frontunner to acquire Kolb. They'll definitely be parting with a 2012 first-rounder. May 20, 4:08 PM
Turry 755 Posted May 20, 2011 NFL Network's Mike Lombardi believes Kevin Kolb is overrated and will be overpaid for on the trade market."It's hard to watch tape on Kevin Kolb and think he's worth a first-round pick," Lombardi said. "When you study the tape ... it's not overly impressive. It's very disappointing at times. I know Philadelphia doesn't like me when I say this, I think ultimately if he did have to play Philly would have been a 7-9 team. If it wasn't for Michael Vick it would have been bad." Turry 755 Posted May 29, 2011 ESPN's John Clayton hints that the Seahawks may be involved in the Kevin Kolb bidding only to drive up what the Cardinals have to pay.Seattle and Arizona are obviously division rivals, so the Seahawks would have plenty to gain if the Cardinals overpaid. Writes Clayton, a former longtime Seahawks beat writer, "Pete Carroll has said he’s interested in Kolb, but will the Seahawks offer a first-round pick to acquire him? At the very least, they can stay in the bidding and make the Cardinals pay more." Related: Seahawks, Cardinals Source: ESPN.com
BLUE 1,026 Posted May 31, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: According to Scout.com's AZRedReport, Cardinals coaches still harbor concerns about Kevin Kolb's potential fit in coach Ken Whisenhunt's offense.Kolb's 11:14 TD-to-INT ratio has raised questions about his decision making, and his 6.46 yards per attempt in five 2010 starts is underwhelming. Kolb is considered a prototypical West Coast offense signal-caller whereas Arizona's system involves more downfield throws. Nobody questions that Kolb would be a major upgrade on John Skelton, but the Cardinals have to convince themselves that he's worth at least a first-round pick as a franchise quarterback. westbrookforsix 28 Posted May 31, 2011 Damn logic!!! Hurry up and end the lockout before they find out more! He actually has been improving significantly every year. That says more than his career 11:14 ratio. If we didn't have Vick, Reid would be more than happy to start Kolb.
BLUE 1,026 Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) Serious question for Iggles fans: What would you give up for Kolb, if you were a QB needy team (assuming he fit your offense)? Edited May 31, 2011 by BLUE
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted May 31, 2011 Serious question for Iggles fans: What would you give up for Kolb, if you were a QB needy team (assuming he fit your offense)? If I'm a GM, a 3rd rounder. If my coaches told me they loved him, then nothing more than a 2nd rounder. There are several superior quarterbacks on the market, IMO.
westbrookforsix 28 Posted May 31, 2011 I would give up a 2nd to get Kolb. He came back to play once last season after he had a slow start against the eventual Super Bowl Champions... and he ripped the Falcons a new one. I also don't think the Eagles will trade him for anything less than a 2nd. Vick is very injury prone, and Kolb could still be our future.
