BLUE 1,026 Posted October 25, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: Falcons placed FB Ovie Mughelli (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.Mughelli took a helmet to the knee in Week 7, bending it awkwardly. Replays suggested a torn ACL at the very least. The Falcons are working out free agents Tuesday, seeking a replacement lead-blocker for Michael Turner. Mughelli is signed through the 2012 season. southgadawg 52 Posted October 26, 2011 NOT a good thing for the Falcons running game. Hopefully the talented and versatile Jason Snelling will step up and at least partially fill the role filled by Ovie.
Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted October 26, 2011 Snelling can fill the role. Hes not the blocker that Ovie is, but he can block efficiently. Plus Snelling adds a great recieving option out of the backfield.
KiLaSix9+ 398 Posted October 26, 2011 This is a huge loss for the Falcons. I've said time and time again that Ovie is IMO the leagues best FB. Any worthy free agents?
GA_Eagle 595 Posted October 26, 2011 That injury was nasty.
ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted October 26, 2011 Mughelli is a top 3 fullback in this league...he's pivotal to Turner especially with how poor our offensive line is capable of playing at times. He opens up holes..because our lineman can't...it'll be a tough replacement..but hopefully our passing game can be more effective so that Turner can do just as good. Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted October 26, 2011 Mike Cox was signed in hours of him being able to take over Ovie's job.
