Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted November 13, 2011 BOISE, Idaho -- Casey Pachall threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Carter with 1:05 left, then connected with Josh Boyce on the go-ahead 2-point conversion, and Boise State's Dan Goodale booted a 39-yard field-goal attempt wide right as time expired to give TCU a 36-35 victory against the No. 5 Broncos on Saturday. Pachall threw for 473 yards and five touchdowns as the Horned Frogs (8-2, 5-0) secured a clear path to the Mountain West Conference title and snuffed out the Broncos' hopes of playing in the BCS championship game. For the second straight year, a missed field goal could dash Boise State's BCS hopes. Pachall shredded the Broncos' injury-riddled secondary for scoring passes of 75, 74 and 69 yards in the first half. And he was just as sharp at the end. After Broncos running back Drew Wright fumbled in TCU territory with 2:26 remaining, Pachall marched the Horned Frogs down the field, capping a seven-play scoring drive with a TD pass to Carter to pull within 35-34. TCU coach Gary Patterson made a gutsy call to go for the lead instead of a tying kick. Pachall hit Boyce in the corner of the end zone to put the Horned Frogs up 36-35. Poor Chris Petersen watching this happen to his team again. Their NCG hopes end on a missed easy kick.

Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted November 13, 2011 Thank you TCU for making things right. No NCG for Boise State. All these ''BOISE SHOULD TOTALLY HAVE A CHANCE TO PLAY IN THE NCG!!!111'' people can once again, shut the fuck up.
Anthony 78 Posted November 13, 2011 Kellen Moore has lost two games as the Boise State starting QB. Both were a result of his kicker missing game-winning field goal attempts.
Patriots2994 43 Posted November 13, 2011 This is why Boise State doesn't deserve a National Championship bid. I don't care if you lose by a point or by a half dozen touchdowns--you should beat unranked teams if you want to call yourself a "National Championship contender." Obviously TCU is good, but they definitely aren't the same team as last year. It must blow to be a Boise State fan with both championship bids being shattered by their kicker. Thank you for putting Boise State in their rightful place TCU

housemd 338 Posted November 13, 2011 With Stanford and Boise State both losing their games,we now know who's playing in NCG...
Anthony 78 Posted November 15, 2011 Stanford is a bigger fraud than Boise. Stanford has suffered two losses in the last 23 games, both coming from top-10 ranked Oregon teams. Meanwhile, Boise State lost to Nevada and TCU, yet it's Stanford that is the fraud? Had Boise stayed in the WAC this season, it would still be undefeated and we would still be hearing the name in "best team" discussions. TCU leaves the MWC next year, so the Broncos can go back to wearing that mask of a "world beater" against that lesser talent that remains.
