Dutch 874 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) Assemble your own AFC North all star team that gives you the best chance for a superbowl run for 1 year; 11 starters on offense and defense. Oh yeah, Special Teams as well. They are people too. Offense QB: Ben Roethlisberger RB: Ray Rice FB/RB 2/TE 2: Dennis Pitta WR 1: A.J Green WR 2: Josh Gordon - I didn't go with the popular #2 pick with Antonio Brown and Torrey Smith. I struggled with Brown though but I really like Gordon. NaTaS+ 958 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) I like most of your list with the following changes. Offense QB: Ben Roethlisberger RB: Ray Rice FB/RB 2/TE 2: Trent Richardson (Can you imagine those two in the backfield together? WR 1: A.J Green WR 2: Antonio Brown - Gordon may be a stud or a 1 year wonder. I'm taking Brown. TE: Heath Miller LT: Joe Thomas - Top 5 LT in the NFL and you leave him off your list? Shame on you LG: Bobbie Williams - Jason Pinkston is recovering from a blood clot in his lung. I don't think he was very good in the first place but we'll see. C: Alex Mack RG: Marshall Yonda RT: Andre Smith Defense 4-3 LDE: Jaabal Sheard DT: Geno Atkins DT: Haloti Ngata RDE: Michael Johnson LOLB: Vontaze Burfict MLB: Lawrence Timmons ROLB: James Harrison CB 1: Joe Haden CB 2: Ike Taylor FS: Ryan Clark SS: T.J Ward - With Ed Reed out of the division and Troy getting up in age, I can see this as a real possiblity. I should still list TP, but my thought process is going into next year, will Polamalu stay health. Special Teams Kicker: Justin Tucker Punter: Kevin Huber KR: Jacoby Jones PR: Jacoby Jones Really missing Phil Dawson and Cribbs now Edited July 3, 2013 by NaTaS

Not even top 5, arguably top 3 and wouldn't argue if he was #1. But yeah, great list. My gut told me to go with Antonio Brown but I went with my bias pick. Brown as a #2 with A.J be a great combo. I think he'd catch a lot of balls underneath. I just really like Gordon.
NaTaS+ 958 Posted July 3, 2013 I love Josh Gordon, he's just so raw with immense natural gifts. Love to see if he can stay off the Purple Drank and clear up any off-the-field issues.
RazorStar 4,025 Posted July 3, 2013 It's hard to choose whether to leave Whitworth or Thomas off the list. Both are top three offensive tackles in the league.

NaTaS+ 958 Posted July 3, 2013 I don't want to sound like a homer here, but how are you leaving off Joe Haden? In almost every list online that I can find has Joe Thomas in the top 10 CB in the NFL. Not all list Ike Taylor and when they do he's #10 (I've posted before how underrated he is) and none list Ladarius Webb. Just want to hear some reason behind this one. Joe Thomas would have the most powerful jam by a DB in the history of the sport. I will say if those lists have never had Lardarius Webb in the top 10 they are irrelevant anyway. To your point though, yes if everyone is healthy it should is going to be very tough to call between the three but Haden should be in there.

Dutch 874 Posted July 4, 2013 Offense, 11 Personnel -Cornerback: Leon Hall -Nickel: Joe Haden You know Leon Hall played almost exclusively in the slot and was one of the top nickel back corners in the league right?

He doesn't have as many snaps as some of the other guys, but when he did, he dominated.
