RazorStar 4,025 Posted September 8, 2014 Impressive. This is gonna be a big problem for the Colts.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted September 8, 2014 At least now he'll have plenty of time to spend with his new kid.
Zack_of_Steel+ 3,014 Posted September 8, 2014 He was a terror last year in the 3-4 (something I had been waiting to see for years). Sad to see this happen as he's nearing the end of his career.
CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted September 9, 2014 That sucks for him and the Colts. I know me and Durst were the two main ones mentioning the drug he was suspended for was typically used by guys coming down off steroid or similar performance enhancer use. Others took his story as truth, which it could be but I was just suspicious that he by chance had his career year last year and then gets popped using that drug the following offseason. Well... I'm going to speculate again — could be wrong of course — but doctors have been taught that there's an increased risk in tendon tears/injuries with steroid/PED use and coming down off of them. I'm just saying.
KempBolt 498 Posted September 10, 2014 Hey Rob... maybe don't take clomid to cycle off a round of steroids and then lie to the public about taking it for infertility. Men don't take clomid. It's a medication that regulates ovulation. You been ovulating regularly Rob? It's an insult to people who actually have to deal with infertility. I'm not going to celebrate an injury, but I won't lie-- I wasn't looking forward to seeing him on the field again.
theMileHighGuy 656 Posted September 10, 2014 These kinds of things happen when you use ped's to push your body beyond its limits You can't tell me that a guy who turns 33 has far and away his best year of his career, especially now with no complimentary pass rush, and isn't getting a little help from somewhere. This is a massive blow to the Colts though. You can see the difference in their defense when he isn't in there, as offensive lines have no respect for the rest of their line. The offense really needs to step up if they hope to repeat to their postseason performance.

This is kind of a hobby horse for me, but I'm ticked that no one in the media ever pointed out the obvious lie regarding clomid. He might as well have claimed that he popped due to a tainted tampon.
Dutch 874 Posted September 10, 2014 Huge loss for the Colts. This puts a lot more pressure on their secondary to perform.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted September 30, 2014 Colts signed OLB Robert Mathis to a one-year contract extension. The 33-year-old Mathis was suspended the first four games of the season for PEDs and is currently on the NFI list with a torn Achilles. He's now technically not an impending free agent until 2016, but this extension is structured as a $6 million team option. Mathis will have to prove his health to avoid getting cut. BLUE 1,026 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: Colts OLB Robert Mathis suffered a slight setback while rehabbing his Achilles' tear. Mathis originally blew out his Achilles' in early September. It's a massive injury, especially for a player that will turn 34 next week. He certainly doesn't need any complications. We'd consider Mathis questionable for training camp. It's doubtful the five-time Pro Bowler will ever truly return to form. Feb 16 - 10:01 AM Source: ESPN.com Robert Mathis' (Achilles') agent denies he suffered a setback, and still hopes he'll be ready for OTAs. We're not sure who to believe, but even if this report is true, it's way too early for the Colts to count on Mathis being available for OTAs. Mathis turns 34 in 10 days, and Achilles' tears are very tough to recover from. Don't expect Mathis to be the same player we saw in 2013 when he recorded an NFL-best 19.5 sacks.
