Vin+ 3,121 Posted March 15, 2018 Raiders signed WR Jordy Nelson, formerly of the Packers, to a two-year, $15 million contract. As expected, the Raiders cut Michael Crabtree and his $7.5 million in salary and bonuses for 2018 and gave it to Nelson, who gets $13 million guaranteed. Nelson (33 in May) is two years older than Crabtree and looked washed with the Packers last season, though we're going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now, considering he was playing with Brett Hundley. (It didn't bother Davante Adams.) Nelson will be the starter opposite Amari Cooper, who coach Jon Gruden said will be the focal point of the offense. Consider Nelson a WR3 for now. Source: James Jones on Twitter Raiders released WR Michael Crabtree. The move saves the Raiders a tad over $7.7 million against the cap. Most of that will likely go to Jordy Nelson, who is not only older than Crabtree, but also looked more out of gas in 2017. However, GM Reggie McKenzie and new WRs coach Edgar Bennett know Nelson from Green Bay. And that trumps all in the "football guys" world. Crabtree is an elite red-zone force and has vise-grip mitts, even if he had a small bout of drops late last season. Crabtree turns 31 this year but is a tremendous route-runner and should quickly land on his feet. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter

ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted March 16, 2018 Crabtree was a diva and seemingly one of the issues in the locker room last year. He would take himself out of games... and JDR would let him. We paid Jordy essentially what we would've paid him. He was fun and was a great RZ threat but Gruden is cleaning house.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted March 16, 2018 Ravens signed Michael Crabtree to a three-year, $21 million contract. This was an obvious fit after the Raiders dumped Crabtree for Jordy Nelson. Crabtree had a dropoff while playing through injuries in 2017 but is still one of the best route runners in the league. After sharing the spotlight with Amari Cooper, Crabtree will be the clear No. 1 option in Baltimore. He should see an increase from the 101 targets he saw last year — his lowest total since 2014. The Ravens are a run-first offense, but Crabtree will remain a threat for double-digit touchdowns. Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter
