The early indication on the injury was that Williams ruptured a patella tendon, which would require season-ending surgery. Most of the Cardinals gathered around Williams as he was helped to the cart. With his head in his hands, Williams was consoled by several players, including receiver Larry Fitzgerald and running back Beanie Wells. Williams was injured on a simple hand-off to the right side, and it was hard to tell from the TV replay what happened. It appeared his leg was twisted as he was tackled.
