Rookie Analysis

DE Minister of Defense

:Cardinals:

Contract: 7 years, $47.1M; $9.87M signing bonus

Ratings: 86 OVR, 83 SPD, 90 AGI, 89 ACC, 86 STR, 62 TAK, 60 AWR

Analysis: The Minister should be a starter from day one for Arizona, a team in full-blown rebuilding mode. While the Cardinals have a decent secondary, Defense is a step towards improving the front seven. It is worth noting that he joins two former college teammates, Majin Matthews and Logan Virgil, in Arizona.

CB Devin Miles

:Raiders:

Contract: 6 years, $39.6M; $8.76M signing bonus

Ratings: 88 OVR, 96 SPD, 95 AGI, 97 ACC, 89 JMP, 80 CTH, 70 AWR

Analysis: Miles is the missing piece in an already-talented secondary for Oaklad. He will start opposite DeAngelo Hall (92 OVR) right away, his only competition being former 5th round pick Duane Williams (76 OVR); he and Hall could become a very formidable duo.

TE Hawg Powah

:Giants:

Contract: 6 years, $21.9M; $4.26M signing bonus

Ratings: 87 OVR, 80 SPD, 82 AGI, 79 ACC, 77 CTH, 65 RBK, 84 BTK, 68 AWR

Analysis: The Giants have tried and failed to acquire talent at wide receiver for Carson Palmer (90 OVR) to throw to, but Powah will be an immediate starter at tight end, and gives Palmer a big target that will hopefully allow New York's receivers to be more productive.

DE Joel Beastmode

:Browns:

Contract: 5 years, $38.4M; $8.6M signing bonus

Ratings: 86 OVR, 81 SPD, 85 AGI, 84 ACC, 85 STR, 67 TAK, 65 AWR

Analysis: Beastmode's physical attributes give him a lot of potential, and he'll have the advantage of sitting for at least a year behind Will Smith (95 OVR). He'll see plenty of snaps in passing situations, and if he progresses nicely, there's no reason he won't overtake Smith on the depth chart at some point.

SS Sebastian Stevenson

:Broncos:

Contract: 5 years, $25.4M; $2.57M signing bonus

Ratings: 88 OVR, 89 SPD, 94 AGI, 96 ACC, 79 TAK, 73 AWR

Analysis: Stevenson is re-united with former TGPU teammate (and co-captain) Jay Cuda in Denver. Outside of Elvis Dumervil (89 OVR), the Broncos defense is lacking talent and leadership. Stevenson will get the opportunity to start immediately.

OT Taylor Green

:Seahawks:

Contract: 5 years, $26.2M; $5.8M signing bonus

Ratings: 82 OVR, 80 AGI, 99 ACC, 92 STR, 84 RBK, 89 PBK, 61 AWR

Analysis: If Green wants to start right away, he'll have to beat out veteran Marvel Smith (87 OVR) to protect Kyle Orton's (91 OVR) blind side. But even if he doesn't, Smith is entering a contract year and figures not to be re-signed at age 35.

FS Dez Ryan

:Cowboys:

Contract: 5 years, $20.2M; $3.75M signing bonus

Ratings: 83 OVR, 91 SPD, 92 AGI, 90 ACC, 66 CTH, 66 TAK, 73 AWR

Analysis: The Cowboys have spent a lot of money in bolstering their high-powered offense, but Ryan is part of a youth movement on defense. He should have no trouble beating out Paul Oliver (78 OVR) for a starting job, and if he can dodge the character concerns that hurt his draft stock, he could end up being a steal for Dallas.

DT G.A. Eagle

:Bears:

Contract: 3 years, $23.8M; $4.5M signing bonus

Ratings: 85 OVR, 71 AGI, 72 ACC, 96 STR, 82 TAK, 66 AWR

Analysis: All the big names of Chicago's once elite defense (Harris, Urlacher, Briggs) are gone, and the Bears defense is in rebuilding mode. At 368 lbs, Eagle should be a nice start to that rebuilding effort. He'll be a starter immediately in the trenches.

CB Jonathan Maverick

:Redskins:

Contract: 3 years, $21M; $3.69M signing bonus

Ratings: 84 OVR, 95 SPD, 93 AGI, 94 ACC, 92 JMP, 70 CTH, 64 AWR

Analysis: Maverick enters an interesting situation at cornerback. Washington has two capable starters in Carlos Rogers (88 OVR) and Terrence McGee (88 OVR), but both are entering contract years and both are 31 years old. Meanwhile, the Redskins also spent their 3rd round draft pick on a corner, Matt McCullar (84 OVR). Maverick will have to earn time in nickel packages this year, but should certainly see an increase in playing time next season.

C Phil Manutz

:Lions:

Contract: 3 years, $11.6M; $2.46M signing bonus

Ratings: 84 OVR, 75 AGI, 73 ACC, 94 STR, 84 PBK, 88 RBK, 67 AWR

Analysis: The Lions will turn their offense over to last year's 7th overall pick Doug Jones (85 OVR) this season, and Manutz figures to be the long-term answer at center to snap him the football. He'll have to beat out veteran Dominic Raiola (86 OVR) for the starting center job, but he could also see playing time at left guard until Raiola's contract is up at the end of this season.

DT Arlen Milsap

:Bucs:

Contract: 3 years, $18.4M; $3.54M signing bonus

Ratings: 83 OVR, 73 AGI, 72 ACC, 96 STR, 78 TAK, 61 AWR

Analysis: Milsap joins a defensive line that includes two top 10 picks in Gaines Adams (90 OVR) and Raymond McClendon (84 OVR), both defensive ends. Milsap, meanwhile, will have no trouble earning a starting job at defensive tackle right away, and his boost could make things easier on Tampa's below-average linebacking corps.

OG Brian Towes

:jags:

Contract: 3 years, $13.5M; $2.67M signing bonus

Ratings: 83 OVR, 69 AGI, 82 ACC, 96 STR, 78 PBK, 92 RBK, 62 AWR

Analysis: Jacksonville continues to help its talented offense by building in the trenches. Towes essentially has no competition and should start at left guard immediately. His pass blocking will need some refining and may not make David Garrard (93 OVR) happy, but he is a mauler in the run game and should open plenty of holes for Maurice Jones-Drew (92 OVR).

OLB Sean Brock

:Falcons:

Contract: 3 years, $8.58M; $1.56M signing bonus

Ratings: 82 OVR, 80 SPD, 83 AGI, 82 ACC, 83 STR, 79 TAK, 66 AWR

Analysis: The Falcons got a surprising Pro Bowl season from Freddie Keiaho (97 OVR) last season, but he is entering a contract year and Atlanta may not be able to re-sign him. Brock gives them insurance at weak-side linebacker. A versatile player, Brock could also see some snaps at strong-side linebacker since Curtis Lofton (81 OVR) has yet to pan out.

MLB Rasputin Krawnka

:jags:

Contract: 3 years, $4.41M; $420K signing bonus

Ratings: 77 OVR, 81 SPD, 86 AGI, 84 ACC, 84 STR, 75 TAK, 71 AWR

Analysis: Fairly talented and well-rounded for a 7th round pick, Krawnka provides quality depth at the very least, though the chances of him beating out Leon Williams (83 OVR) for a starting job are thin.

Brock will make all those who passed on him deeply regret it.

Top 5 draft pick

Vin, Sarge, and I are destined to make the Cardinals relevant again.

13 players in the first 3 rounds. Shouldn't be a surprise for arguably the greatest college team in history.

You mean you want to know what your player's chances of being a starter are?

No problem. In fact, I'll provide updates on all six guys who were drafted last year in terms of whether they'll be starting.

I would get drafted by the Washington Redskins.

At least Dan gave me a pretty good salary at $7m a year. :D
