RazorStar 4,025 Posted March 25, 2012 Nobody knows really, and who's to say he won't drastically improve the Broncos... last years Broncos team was a good QB away from making it to the Super Bowl... if lame ass Tebow can do it. ESPECIALLY MANNING CAN DO IT! No. No they weren't. Or did you not see us give up 45 points a game to teams like Green Bay, Detroit and New England. Did you not see our backs constantly get stuffed in the backfield against nearly every team in the league because our line couldn't block... Tebow was able to do well (winning games) because of the unique amount of terribleness Denver provided for him. He didn't have blocking, so his tank like body and ability to scramble were huge boons for us. His receivers couldn't catch, so running every now and then was not a bad thing because the catches wouldn't be made anyway. We would won less games with any other QB in the league (san maybe Big Ben), because they don't provide the unique abilities Tebow does. He gave a terrible team a shot at winning, and we won about 5 more games than we should have last year.
Turry 755 Posted March 25, 2012 Would you take Tim Tebow over Peyton Manning, MOTM? Because that's all that this is about. As much as I was a big time Tebow nay sayer. Id stick with Tim Tebow and get more weapons and help around him. With the way O line is now in Denver Peyton Manning won't be running for his life cause he can't run he is a sitting duck. Peyton has not played with such a bad line since his rookie year. As to what Razor said Tebow is built like a FB and can run and can make positive plays out of a play that should have been a negative.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted March 26, 2012 lol. This is getting ridiculous. The Broncos apparently have a God awful pass blocking. So how about instead of running around in circles and eventually either throwing a dud or grabbing 5 yards on a keeper... You make pre-snap reads and audibles to get the ball out of the QB's hands quicker and into the receiver. For EVERY SINGLE drop the Broncos wide receivers had, there were also WIDE OPEN receivers that Tebow missed, or Tebow being incapable of throwing the ball to where the receivers can make the catch without jumping 500 feet into the air or trying to make one-hander dives. The no wide receiver excuse is invalid. The QB makes the receivers as much, if not more then the receivers make the QB. And as far as the whole Tebow can improve thing. The guy has been playing the same way for over TEN YEARS. For over TEN YEARS he's played in vanilla offenses, no reads, no audible, etc with poor mechanics. All the sudden there are people who expect him to improve on all those physical technicalities, develop the accuracy touch, and develop the mental aspect of the game? There is just now way that can be done. None, even if he is 24, unless something super natural, coming from above happens, and I am a Christian and I believe it's possible but that's something for another day. Especially when instead of encouraging him to develop those passing skills on a game by game basis, the brass seemed comfortable letting him wing it 5-10 a game. Whether Manning can get them to a Super Bowl or make them an automatic 10 win team is one thing... But I can't understand how anyone would want (and justify) a QB who can't throw against 8 in the box and defenses playing bump and run in the last 2 minutes of a half over one of the greatest QBs ever. Even if he's already 36.
RazorStar 4,025 Posted March 26, 2012 because he's not one of the greatest QB's ever, and we aren't getting him circa 2004. We're getting a broken declining shell of a QB who is a massive ego maniac.... lovely.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted March 26, 2012 And yet that broken shell of a QB is still better than Tim Tebow.

seanbrock 1,684 Posted March 26, 2012 The best point mad so far was by JD I think. Is it possible that this is a very elaborate and expensive way to show Tebow the door without pissing all the fans off. I think it's pretty clear at this point that Denver's FO wasn't sold on Tebow because if they were they'd have kept him and had him hold the clipboard for a season or two until Manning decides to leave the game.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) And yet that broken shell of a QB is still better than Tim Tebow. Well let's get serious for a second... The only way you can find a QB worse than Tim Tebow is to look through ah... let's say... the Jacksonville Jaguars roster. BLUE 1,026 Posted March 28, 2012 Per Rotoworld.com: According to one AFC scout, there was a "significant fall-off" in Peyton Manning's ability by the end of the 2010 season."He showed stiffness and lost athletic traits," said the scout. "... You could see it with his arm strength, too." Another executive said that while Manning's rotation and accuracy were fine, "there was enough there for concern" on velocity. This isn't exactly new information, as ESPN's Ron Jaworski stated the same opinion at the time. It's hard to tell how much of the loss was due to the neck injury that has since been repaired. The good news is Denver's supporting cast is actually superior to the one in Indy two years ago. Mar 27 - 7:29 PM Source: NFL.com
