oochymp 2,393 Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) I got a little curious and looked up the record of 8 seeds v. 1 seeds, and 8 seeds have beaten 1 seeds 9 times since 1994 (when the NHL went to the current playoff format) but none have done so in fewer than 6 games, so this could be a history making series if anyone is curious here are the 9 series (Source): 1994: San Jose Sharks over Detroit Red Wings 4-3 1995: New York Rangers over Quebec Nordiques 4-2 1998: Ottawa Senators over New Jersey Devils 4-2 1999: Pittsburgh Penguins over New Jersey 4-3 2000: San Jose over St. Louis Blues 4-3 2002: Montreal Canadiens over Boston Bruins 4-2 2006: Edmonton Oilers over Detroit 4-2 2009: Anaheim Ducks over San Jose 4-2 2010: Montreal over Washington Capitals 4-3 Edited April 16, 2012 by oochymp
blotsfan 2,112 Posted April 16, 2012 Dat President's Trophy is a goddamn curse. Since the presidents trophy came into existence, the winner has won 7 times in 26 tries, more than a quarter of the time. No curse, its just hard to win the cup.

Turry 755 Posted April 18, 2012 J Quick has been stellar all year long and is bringing it in the post season. If the Kings offence can keep up what they have been doing in game 1 and 2 they can reach the west finals but that's a big seeing as how over the reg season their offense sucked donkey dick
BigBen07 285 Posted April 23, 2012 Game 5 is turning out to be an excellent game. Lots of back and forth action, solid goaltending, plenty of hits, and some dirty tactics by Vancouver. I noticed they're trying to knock the LA goalie's stick out of his hands a few times (I forgot the LA goalie's name)
BigBen07 285 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Jonathan Quick. Thank you, sir! Much obliged. Cool name. Suits his glove hand. Edited April 23, 2012 by BigBen07

BigBen07 285 Posted April 23, 2012 There was a hook before the goal was scored which should have been called. Just saying. Still Vancouver didn't quit. They gave it their all, but it wasn't enough. Now the Kings get the Blues.
Bay 2,003 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Thank you, sir! Much obliged. Cool name. Suits his glove hand. Phil The other 7 who voted for the Kings, take a bow. I will take mine now. Edited April 23, 2012 by BayAreaBomber
BigBen07 285 Posted April 23, 2012 Well I said Canucks in 7, but I'll eat my crow. Props to Bay, Bangy and BJGE for the correct prediction and Bangy and BJGE especially for getting the number of games right.
Bay 2,003 Posted April 23, 2012 I did pick the Kings but I can't say I was too confident. Also never specified how many games it would take.
BigBen07 285 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) I did pick the Kings but I can't say I was too confident. Also never specified how many games it would take. That's why I took Vancouver in 7. I knew it was gonna be tough. This is for the Canucks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kowv6l2CBD0 Edited April 23, 2012 by BigBen07

badgers 380 Posted April 23, 2012 Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Bangy get a ton of negs for saying Kings in 5? Lol.
Bay 2,003 Posted April 23, 2012 Seeing as I like a lot of the Kings players and I hate the Canucks, I will go Kings in 5 and they are my team for the playoffs. .That's not happening. The Canucks are a tough team, bro. Badgers, no. Ben was the only one to say what he said wasn't gonna happen. Nobody negged him either.
Bangy 19 Posted April 23, 2012 Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Bangy get a ton of negs for saying Kings in 5? Lol. Yea as Bay said I never got negged for it only Ben said that he thought it would go to 7. Happy that the Kings beat the Canucks but also I got it correct in 5 . On a side note the Kings are 3rd favourite out here at my bookies at 11/2 before this series win, one of the favourites to make it all the way it seems
