Thanatos 2,847 Posted October 27, 2012 If London wants its own team, let them come up with an NFLEurope league. The logistics of having a team that has to cross the Atlantic 8 times a year, as well as being in a division where three other teams are forced to cross the Atlantic once a year to play them- this simply will not work. It's unfair to the teams in their division, and the London team would be traveling so much. Start their own league if there is enough interest, I have no problem with that at all. Omerta+ 1,206 Posted October 28, 2012 Here's an idea, take your New England fucking Patriots and re-locate them to London, Kraft. There, there's London's fucking team. My heavens. No shit man if it is that fucking important to it than take your fucking team and go, I wouldnt miind seeing an NFL without the Patriots and Tom Brady any fucking way. BigBen07 285 Posted October 28, 2012 I think Kraft has been smoking something off to the side. As I said before, this is a bad idea, and I will not change my mind about it. There was one already. It folded.
CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted October 28, 2012 Maybe they should start an "X-TREME" type NFL league. Have slutty cheerleaders, innovative camera angles, and funny player nicknames allowed on jerseys. That'd be pretty sweet.
oochymp 2,393 Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) I am fucking tired of hearing about expansion into England, even if there is interest there it won't work, a team in England could never get a primetime game because 8:30 EST (the kickoff time for primetime games) is 1:30 AM in England, nobody will watch a game at 1:30 AM on tv, much less go to the stadium, and if you don't give the team any primetime games then they won't get any national attention, no matter how good they are, and imagine the jetlag, you think east coast teams have a tough time playing on the west coast? try sending a team from England over there and see what happens, or a team from the west coast to England for a game, or even a team from the east coast, think about it, no matter what team leaves you'll have four teams moving across at least five timezones for divisional games, the longest shift right now for any team is over three timezones, based on timezones, England is as far from the east coast as Hawaii is, that's right, moving the Patriots to England would be functionally similar to moving them to Hawaii and leaving them in the AFC East, a team in England would have to travel through almost twice as many timezones as the longest possible roadtrip every time they're on the road, you want to talk about physical distance? the furthest distance between teams right now is from Seattle, Washington to Miami, Florida which is 2727 miles (straight line) the distance from London to Boston (which would be the closest team) is 3280 miles, that's right, the closest team to them would be further than the furthest possible travel distance, it's just fucking stupid, also I think any owner who says he supports putting a team in England should be asked if he would move his team to England knowing how much travel is involved In case anyone missed this analysis the first time this thread came up, filling a stadium in London is only a small part of what the NFL needs to figure out to get this idea off the ground I'm also going to point out that while Kraft's Patriots did play in the London game this year, they weren't the team that lost a home game Edited October 29, 2012 by oochymp
Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted October 29, 2012 Kraft keeps sending cries of wanting a team in London, yet if anyone else has noticed he doesn't seem to be willing to volunteer his beloved Patriots to make a move. You know why? Because it will never work. Never. Trips are too long for the teams to make. Especially now that we are playing games Monday, Thursday AND Sunday. WindyCitySports 407 Posted October 29, 2012 And...it is still a bad idea. Long flights, time changes, not much British interest, etc. Why even consider it?
BigBen07 285 Posted October 29, 2012 And...it is still a bad idea. Long flights, time changes, not much British interest, etc. Why even consider it? Because Goodell is likely trying to get more $$$. (In a Dr. House tone) And because he's an idiot.
