Milla4Prez63 678 Posted January 19, 2013 Raiders hired Greg Olson as offensive coordinator. No relation to the Panthers tight end, ex-Orioles pitcher or Braves catcher, this Greg Olson coached Jaguars quarterbacks in 2012 following a three-year stint coordinating the Bucs' offense. His 2010 Tampa offense, with Josh Freeman, Mike Williams, and LeGarrette Blount, was probably Olson's finest work in a premium NFL position. Olson broke into the league in 2001 under Steve Mariucci and has a variety of offensive backgrounds. One staple of Olson's on-field product has been a power running game. That should be good news for Darren McFadden. LOLRAIDERS Wtf is going on, first Shula and now Olson, why does the NFL want former shitty Bucs OCs all of a sudden? Omerta+ 1,206 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) How is this good news for McFadden ? This power part of the game means he will last a grand total of a kickoff in the first game before he falls off the bench and injures his vagina. AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted January 19, 2013 lolRaiders. Greg Olson is awful everywhere he goes. I don't get why teams continue to give him a shot.
Bucman 891 Posted January 19, 2013 You couldn't get much worse than Greg Knapp, they basically made a lateral move.
RazorStar 4,025 Posted January 19, 2013 McFadden sucks in the ZBS, he's had his success running in a power blocking scheme more often than not.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted February 14, 2013 Raiders OC Greg Olson strongly indicated Wednesday that he will be implementing a power-running offense in 2013. "Maybe a year ago, they weren't sure about that zone scheme," said Olson, referring to fired OC Greg Knapp's system. "After a year of having to look at it, maybe (Darren McFadden) is a downhill runner. So we'll get back to some of the gap schemes and things he does well." Unfortunately, the Raiders wasted a year of McFadden's career under Knapp. DMC will still be a bounce-back candidate in 2013.
