Didn't realize it was him during the episode because he was actually a new dude (actor.) Apparently he's Iceland's strongest man, and came in 3rd in strongest man in the world. There's a short documentary on him and the "strongest man" culture in Iceland. But uhh... yeah, Oberyn and Tyrion's acting in their scene >>> Baelish's pimp hand is strong as always... I was @ the exchange between Jorah and Daario after Daario finally slung some dick to Daenerys. Told her she was, "in a good mood" and hit him with the Jorah died in side for a hot second there. Atleast Dany threw him a bone before he went to talk to Daario again with the whole, "told him you convinced me." I understand what you are saying and from just a pure fan perspective, it makes sense... But Oberyn has just as much reason as anybody to topple the Mountain. I think if Oberyn killed him I'd feel a little cheated. Just because I think Hound/Mountain dynamic is awesome even though they've only been in maybe one scene together. It seems unlikely he (Oberyn) will lose and Tyrion will be executed but it also seemed unlikely that Robb Stark, his mother, his wife and his unborn child would all be murdered at a wedding. Characters die when their deaths do more to progress the story than their lives do (also they do things to earn it). Let's see: Ned: Was retarded. Execution escalated the war, alternative was him and Jon being together on the Wall patrolling and not banging girls. Renly: Defied the Mannis. Gave Stannis an army big enough to attack Blackwater, alternative was them taking each other out. Robb: Went back on an agreement. His death all but ended the war his father's death started. Catelyn: Started the war in the first place by kidnapping Tyrion. Joffrey: Pissed off everyone. Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) Ya.. Oberyn losing right now wouldn't give his character justice and just wouldn't make much sense. I mean, anything is possible I suppose... But that would be shocking. I have already told my brother that Oberyn seems like a "one plot/story" kind of character. He has his purpose, his goal (exacting revenge for his sister and her children) and I would be shocked if he sticks around much longer than that. If he does, and becomes a long term character, I will be THRILLED... But he seems destined to die either right after completing this task of his (killing the people involved) or in the process... Probably the latter. I am already trying to speculate who will be the one to take him out, and my best guess is Cersei gets him somehow... Which would really piss me off beyond belief. I guess that's still possible somehow, but I'm really not ok with him dying. if he dies and then Daenerys gets killed them I'm about to be up out this show. Those two make it watchable.
