Not gonna have any set criteria that you have to follow. Everyone is going to have different preferences and ideas of what makes a good vocalist, so have at it. Also, I'm only going to be posting a couple songs for each vocalist. Feel free to post your own if you feel what I've selected is not a good showcase of their abilities.

Van Zant vs Gilmour was the hardest matchup for me. It could have gone either way, IMO.

 

I've heard of Alter Bridge but never really listened to them at length. I'm really digging Myles Kennedy's voice. He sounds like a poor man's Chris Cornell, IMO.

It's a shame Gilmour or Van Zant has to lose. Can't really go wrong with either. Kennedy is a standout in this round. Don't care for either in the first matchup and Scott would be my choice in the last because despite finding his voice grating, at the time, there was nothing quite like him in rock. Of course, amazingly, AcDC found a replacement that had a really similar quality to his voice so I guess take that fwiw.

The talent level of each of these matchups have drastic differences, and only one of the lesser talented vocalists is winning, but he has more unique, definitive voice than his probably more talented opponent.

Sorry Vin, I don't fully understanding what you are saying. It seemed to me you are saying that because I don't care about the other ones in the vote that the computer someway read my mind and won't let me vote. LOL and I know that is impossible. What I THINK you mean was that because I didn't vote for any of the other three parts that the system won't let me vote for any of them....

 

Back to my question ...what I was asking was WHY it won't let me just vote for one? Is it just the way that all the polls are set up? Or is there an option to change these in the future to where you can choose to vote in some parts of the poll but not in all parts of it? (in other words I see FOUR specifically different questions instead of just ONE---so should be four different answers---I know not other people's problem and I am not trying to split hairs but that is just how my mind perceived it initially no matter how it was meant ).

It's just how they're set up; all or nothing. I don't believe it's possible to break up a multi-part poll to where you could just vote for one section instead of all them. I would have to make a thread for each individual matchup to make that happen, and I would prefer not do that because with the way it is now, I don't have to beg for votes for the matchups no one cares about.

Np at all LOL I know you shouldn't have to beg for votes. Thanks for clarifying. TBH I figured it was something like that to begin with but was kinda hazy on it. When I had did some of the other similar polls I realized it was probably an all or nothing thing but I had already posted my original question in this thread.

 

I know that some of my mannerisms may seem peculiar to others. My kids call me a specificist because I generally require specific type explanations from them...generalized ones get on my nerves (as do a lot of generalizations). But I am also smart enough to realize that most of the general population could care less about knowing underlying reasons behind things as opposed to generalized descriptions or explanations. Those are my own issues and I apologize to anyone that my idiosyncrasies annoy.
