seanbrock 1,684 Posted August 15, 2014 I think the first team's offensive issues were pretty flukey. Evan Mathis isn't going to be getting whistled for holding like he did in those first few series and therefore we won't end up in long 3rd downs often. That's part of what made us so effective offensively last year. We were rarely not in manageable 3rd downs. Defensively the Eagles need to get to the QB. Period. Trent Cole is good against the run even as a OLB, but brings virtually zero pass rush. Brandon Graham brings absolutely nothing to the table BUT pass rushing so he's a real liability if he's not chasing down a QB. Vinny Curry needs to play more. Every game it becomes more and more obvious. At the very least he's got to be on the field on 3rd downs if we don't want to see our secondary get torched over and over again. CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted August 15, 2014 Couple interesting games tonight. Gonna keep an eye on the Eagles WRs versus Pats DBs. See if Jordan Matthews bounces back from a tough first outing. Titans offense versus Saints defense. Brandin Cooks. Also to see if MJD's quickness from the first game repeats, as well as if the Raiders as a whole are still terrible or not versus the Lions.

RazorStar 4,025 Posted August 17, 2014 Teddy Bridgewater showed exactly what he can do in this league. To second stringers.
KempBolt 498 Posted August 17, 2014 I liked was the Falcons did on paper to fix their OL, but if it doesn't translate into better protection than what we've seen than it could be another long year. Because the other big weakness was pass rush, and the FO sort of put that off and focused on shoring up Ryan's protection. I highly doubt we will see the same train wreck that we did last year regardless. Not with Julio and Roddy back healthy. But if the OL doesn't gel it could be closer to 7-9 than the 10-11 wins that fans are hoping to see (a reasonable expectation if Ryan has time to throw and they get a running game going). Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted August 17, 2014 Rodgers looked just as sharp as ever in his 2 drives. The front 7 of the defense looked a lot better with plenty of pressure and being able to stop the run. The secondary was playing very lack coverage so Bradford was able to complete some easy passes. Janis showed off his speed with his TD catch and run and could be a good reserve. The Rams d-line is one of the best in the league so I was impressed how our O-line played against them and held their own for the most part though having a mobile QB like Rodgers helps a lot.
