BLUE 1,026 Posted October 25, 2014 Per Rotoworld.com: Buccaners signed DT Gerald McCoy to a seven-year, $98-million contract extension. The deal reportedly includes $51.5 million guaranteed, and makes McCoy the highest paid defensive tackle in NFL history. McCoy struggled with injuries his first two seasons, but bounced back to become one of the most dominant defensive forces in the league over the last two years. Only 26, McCoy was a first-team All-Pro last season, and already has two Pro-Bowl selections under his belt. McCoy has two sacks and nine hurries on 274 defensive snaps this season. DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted October 26, 2014 Its a great deal for one of the best defensive players in the league. It also means goodbye Suh... More then likely.
FartWaffles 1,857 Posted October 26, 2014 It also means goodbye Suh... More then likely. Yeah, you know Suh's agent is going to use McCoy's new deal as the likely starting point before any negotiations will even begin. Also good for McCoy. He pretty much got Watt's contract. He's one of the few building blocks the Bucs actually have. They couldn't afford to let him walk.

Shotgun 442 Posted October 28, 2014 It's been many years since I've seen the Bucs give a player a big contract that I think will actually earn it. Glad to see we locked him up for several more years as the block to build upon.
Mentch 42 Posted October 28, 2014 He's worth it. Glad to see the Bucs were able to keep him. Let's see if they're able to build around him on defense
