BLUE 1,026 Posted January 8, 2015 Per Rotoworld.com: Bears hired ex-Saints director of player personnel Ryan Pace as general manager. Pace spent the past 14 years in New Orleans, including the past two as director of player personnel. He was previously the director of pro personnel. Pace turned down the opportunity to interview for the Jets' GM opening. Pace was considered one of GM Mickey Loomis and coach Sean Payton's top lieutenants, and was twice promoted during Payton's tenure. He is only 37. Pace's first order of business in Chicago will be finding a head coach, followed closely by sorting out the futures of Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall. BLUE 1,026 Posted January 9, 2015 Per Rotoworld.com: New Bears GM Ryan Pace has full control of the team's football operations. As it should be with any general manager. Pace gets final call in the team's head-coaching search and over the 53-man roster. He has a strong background in pro personnel, having overseen the Saints' personnel department for a handful of years under GM Mickey Loomis. Pace admitted to not being as rehearsed in salary cap management, but he'll lean on others in the organization for that. He also said he'll meet with Jay Cutler soon to discuss his future with the Bears. Jan 9 - 12:40 PM

Vin+ 3,121 Posted January 1, 2018 Bears signed GM Ryan Pace to a two-year extension through 2021. Pace won what amounted to a power struggle with coach John Fox, whom Pace kept in the dark on the team's 2017 draft plans, then was fired immediately after the season. Pace has drafted mostly well through three years in Chicago, but his free agent moves have been mediocre at best -- most disastrously Mike Glennon and Markus Wheaton in 2017 -- and the franchise has a painful 14-34 record on his watch. The Bears have finished last in the NFC North in four straight seasons. Pace will now begin searching for a new head coach.
