Alright ya'll. This might be the biggest poll in the history of TGP, so let's do this right. What we have is 68 movies all receiving one vote in the Tournament Nomination thread Bay created a little while ago.

What Bay is looking for is to whittle these 68 movies down to NINE. Bay would like for you to look through all three lists and vote for the nine best movies you see there. It's not nine votes per list or per qualifier. It's nine total.

If you so happen to use all 9 in Qualifier 1, theoretically you have no votes left and can not vote in the other polls. Please respect Bay and the tournament enough to not intentionally 'cheat' by casting extra votes to get one of your favorite movies in.

Any questions, comments, or concerns? Please post here and they will be answered asap.

This is our poll to get the 9 for the master bracket. Don't worry.

For the record: it doesn't let you vote without casting at least one vote for each poll, and my 9 movies are all in qualifiers 2 and 3. So I cast a vote for Clerks in Q1. Please don't count that one! Sorry for the trouble.

why does it seem like a lot of these are from my initial list?

anyway, I'll take this opportunity to lobby for a few of them in video form:

admittedly probably not as funny out of context, but seriously, What About Bob? is one of Bill Murray's best movies, here are some scenes that survive better out of context:

I already posted this scene from Passenger 57, but it can be posted again:

and seriously, a 90s movie tourney isn't complete without something with Wesley Snipes

the dearth of Chris Farley is equally disturbing, I voted for Beverly Hills Ninja because it's his best

but we've gotta have something from him so I'd switch my vote to Tommy Boy if that's more likely to make the field

and did we seriously put Water Boy into the field but not Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore?

Holy crap. I could vote for nearly all of them

Didn't read the post before voting, but I still voted for nine movies. :)

I second What About Bob. That was a great movie.

Noted.

Also just curious at the lack of love for True Romance, no pun intended.

I'm shocked A Few Good Men is even in the qualifier to begin with, let alone not getting votes.

I will be honest... Bay sent me the list of these movies ot put into the poll. I got to A Few Good Men and face palmed. No joke, it's one of my favorite movies EVER... And I didn't even put it on my list. It was one Vin vote away from not making an appearance at all, and I don't know if I could have lived with myself after that.

So props to Vin...

Don't think I've seen it, that reminds me... should have gave Crimson Tide a mention.

If I forgot to put it on my list, it was an honest mistake.

Same here. And if I would have added it, it wouldn't be here fighting for it's life to begin with. LolMe. Praise Vin, Master of Movies.

It's all good, because let's face it, there's more than...a few good movies...on this list.

I probably would be voting for it, but I actually haven't seen it, I've seen parts on TV, but haven't really seen much of it, it's one of those movies that's been on my list for a while but would always take too much effort to see

Thank the internet for A Few Good Men. I was blanking on movies so I had to use the interwebs for help.

The internet didn't remind me about Tombstone though. :welp:

I'm pretty disappointed Chris Farley got shut out of this, especially since I said I'd switch my Beverly Hills Ninja vote to Tommy Boy to get him included (even though Beverly Hills Ninja is a superior movie)

Sorry I honestly missed you saying that. I'm sure there are a bunch of us who are upset over certain movies missing the cut.

it's not so much a certain movie as having one of the best comedians of the decade, who was part of some great movies, being shut out, though thinking again he was in Billy Madison, which made the cut, though his role was pretty small in that one

If we're talking Farley I'm all about Black Sheep. None of these movies would have gone far anyway. :smug:
