Alright, TGP: Wide Receivers!

Recommended Posts

Yall know the drill by now.

1. Antonio Brown :Steelers: : No one else is close save for #2 on this list. AB is the best receiver in the league and has a good shot at taking the record, both for most catches and for most yards. It helps that he has a top-5 QB throwing him the ball.

2. Julio Jones :Falcons: : This guy is a nightmare to cover. He is the closest threat to take the crown from AB, though #3 is charging like a freight train. He does all this with Matty Slush throwing him the ball, a significant downgrade from AB's QB.

3. Odell Beckham JR :Giants: : Only two years in the league and already the 3rd best WR in the NFL. Talk about a rise up the ranks. OBJ has ridiculous hands and great speed and route running to complement it. All he really needs is a bonafide #2 to really take off.

4. DeAndre Hopkins :Texans: : DeAndre had some of the best stats in the league last year despite the hodgepodge of QBs that were throwing him the football. He's one of the best WRs in the league- and he's deservedly gotten that reputation with essentially no one across from him and no one throwing him the ball.

5. AJ Green :Bengals: : Green is one of the best at the deep ball and probably the closest guy we have to Megatron's skillset. If Dalton continues to get better, it will only mean more and better things for Green.

6. Jordy Nelson :Packers: : Nelson is a far better WR than most people think. For some reason, he has a reputation of only being a slot guy, when in reality he's one of the best all around WRs in the NFL. A-Rod's numbers going down last year show just how good Nelson really was.

7. Dez Bryant :Cowboys: : 88 was hurt last year, and still played through it as best he could so long as Dallas was in the hunt. With his QB coming back and hopefully his injury healing up, Dez can hopefully return to form.

8. Brandon Marshall :Jets: : Marshall had an explosive 2015, one of his best years in a long time. He is perennially underrated by many, but given who's been throwing him the ball much of his career, it's past time to acknowledge him as a top WR.

9. Larry Fitzgerald :Cardinals: : Fitzy had a resurgent year last year under Carson Palmer, showing he still has gas left in the tank. If Carson can continue playing well, Fitz may rocket back up this list next year.

10. Keenan Allen :Chargers: : Allen was on pace for a terrific year prior to his injury. He's got a decent QB throwing him the ball, and I look for him to continue his tear to start next season.

Just missed: Allen Robinson, Steve Smith, Doug Baldwin, Jarvis Landry, Sammy Watkins

Josh Gordon missed more than just last year lol. Also these are projections, feel quite free to put Jordy where you think he will be.

Narrowing down this list to ten was so hard. There are so many guys out there right now doing great work at receiver, my original list had 16 guys and I think any one of them could have snuck on if they were in a better situation or had more reliable quarterbacks, or they're just young guys who are projected to take that next step to greatness.

1. Antonio Brown :Steelers:

The obvious number 1 here, his consistency is unmatched, he has the perfect mix of hands, route running ability and agility to always find a way to get open. An absolute nightmare to play against.

2. Julio Jones :Falcons:

He's got more flash than AB, and he's a hell of a threat in the red zone. Great size and great finesse too. If he keeps playing whole seasons he's gonna damage record books.

3. DeAndre Hopkins :Texans:

This is a guy who just finds a way to catch the ball no matter what. Brock is gonna be lucky to have this guy bailing his ass out.

4. Jordy Nelson :Packers:

We've seen the before and after with Nelson and the Packers are a changed offense with a legitimate number 1 guy busting the top off a defense. Going for Davante Adams to Jordy Nelson is like going from wiping your ass with 1 ply toilet to 3 ply. Silky Smooth.

5. AJ Green :Bengals:

Now that Andy Dalton has improved AJ Green has to make less hero ball catches, and his efficiency numbers have ticked up greatly as a result. Now that he's back to being the only proven WR, he's gonna be getting a lot of looks.

6. Allen Robinson :jags:

With Bortles around, this kid is gonna eat. Think Early Stafford with Megatron. Lots of risky throws, lots of amazing catches, he's gonna put on a show this year.

7. Alshon Jeffrey :Bears:

One of those underrated guys who doesn't get talked about a lot, but he's a great physical player and always seems to find a way to make huge catches. If he stays healthy I like his chances this year, especially with Kevin white finally taking some of the load off.

8. Odell Beckham :Giants:

He's a little overrated and certainly a bit of a mental midget but banana hair has serious game, great gloves and plays with fire. The technical and fundamental aspects of his game still needs some ironing out, but once he's got all of that under his hat, whoa baby.

9. Doug Baldwin :Seahawks:

A bit of a sleeper pick, this guy was surprisingly efficient last year and came alive in the second half of the season. The Seahawks offense is controlled chaos, and this guy thrives in chaos like Cao Cao. His real talent is finding holes in a defense and going completely invisible until suddenly he has the ball and he's gone. He's gonna do work this year.

10. Brandon Marshall :Jets:

Consistency, Experience, and having a QB who knows to throw it his way whenever there is a doubt in your mind. Brandon Marshall aka Baby T.O. aka that's a dumb nickname has been manhandling defenses for years, and he will continue to do so, even with Geno Smith throwing the ball.

Honorable Mentions

Larry Fitzgerald, Dez Bryant, Keenan Allen, Sammy Watkins, Kelvin Benjamin, Mike Evans

A little confused as to why so many people have OBJ not in their top 3, and BC, you'll have to explain how Julian Edalman is one of the best 10 receivers in the NFL...

A little confused as to why someone has DeAndre Hopkins #8 :p

OBJ is good but there are better options. He's only able to be #3 at best with Julio and Brown at top. I'd take a couple guys over him at #3 anyways.

I have no issues with anyone who has OBJ as low as 8th. I could see Hopkins, Bryant, Green, and Nelson all ahead of him. I'm projecting him to be 3rd, though.
