Purple Jesus Rises Again

Running back Adrian Peterson has signed a one-year contract with the Washington Redskins, the team announced Monday.

He signed for the veterans minimum of $1.015 million, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Can he turn water to wine in Washington? Unlikely.. I mean... he's done... right? Really done?

You know you're an irrelevant team that's never going to win in the playoffs when you have AP AND Alex Smith... Washingtons plan this offseason was beyond piss poor...

A dude like that is super hard to count out. I mean father time is undefeated, but AP can put up a fight right?

If the Redskins line is healthy he'll have the opportunity to work behind one of the better lines in the league.

Depth move. He's probably a good guy to use to get a little electricity into the atmosphere of the team and all that. But there's no way he becomes "the guy" or gets anything more than single digit touches.

Adrian Peterson rushed 11 times for 56 yards in the Redskins' third preseason game.

It was great news on two fronts for Peterson. First, he dominated first-team snaps, lining up for 14 of the 25 plays Alex Smith was on the field. Second, he looked good on those snaps, consistently creating positive yards including a few big plays. Chris Thompson likely will take on more work than Kapri Bibbs handled Friday night, but Peterson now has to be considered in the same range as Jamaal Williams and Chris Carson in fantasy drafts.
