2011 Mock Draft Challenge

Recommended Posts

Just want to do something for fun here, since a lot of people here have a mock draft, I'd like to see how well we could predict how the NFL GM's are gonna do it.

So to start off I've developed a scoring system that awards more points the further down you get in the draft. So anyone can predict Sam Bradford going number 1 to the Rams, so that's only worth one point, but who will the Saints take at 32, if you get that right it's 32 points.

Now then, you get the full value of the pick if you pick the correct team, and correct player at the pick.

Ex: Eric Berry going to the Chiefs at the 5th overall pick would net you 5 points if you had that in your mock

You will get half value if you pick the correct player at the correct pick, but he goes to the wrong team

Ex: Eric Berry going to the Seahawks at the 5th overall pick, but you didn't project the trade, would give 2.5 points.

Likewise you'll get half value if you predict the right player to the right team, but at the wrong pick

Ex: Eric Berry going to the Chiefs at 6th overall would net you 2.5 overall points if you had Eric Berry slotted to the chiefs at 5.

The maximum amount of points for this is 528... but I don't see anyone going over 120 realistically. You have up until 15 minutes before the draft to submit your mocks.

Basically this but apply it for 2011 draftees. I'll use Walter's mock as an example in the next post. NYGFH won last year with 108, you can go hunting for the previous topic if you want to how it worked out there.

It's good that this is getting some attention. Here are some rules I forgot. If your mock draft is in another topic, you can just give the link if you don't want to post it in here. If there are multiple mocks in the topic, just tell me where it is, like if it's in the first post, near the bottom of the first page, etc. All mocks must be submitted at least 15 minutes before the start of the draft. Anything later, or anything with an edited by stamp that is later than that will be DQ'ed.

SO yeah, this topic should be hopping in a few days.

Lol.... I was kinda befuddled with your pick... You probably don't go LB but I like the kid a lot so... Boom. Also thought about trading down.... but I wasn't really sure to who for who. I have to admit that I am quite frustrated with the Eagles... they should make it easier for me to mock them.

15 for Pouncey, and 6.5 for Fairley. I'm still waiting on Bowers and Ijalana, but I don't think my odds are good.

Nailed the Top 5 for 15 points, but would I really only get half for nailing the Jimmy Smith to the Ravens pick since they waited and took him one spot later?

I guess I'm either getting 28 or 41 points depending on how Razor rules it.
