BLUE 1,026 Posted April 27, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns have "amped up efforts" to trade out of the No. 6 spot in the draft."We are talking to people about trading. I am not going into any more detail than that," club president Mike Holmgren said. The Plain Dealer suggests that the Texans could be a trade partner if either Patrick Peterson or Von Miller slips to the sixth selection. Houston is known to covet both players, and it's not out of the question that Peterson is available there. SteVo+ 3,702 Posted April 27, 2011 I don't see it happening. Who would really want to trade up to 6?
Titanswin472 29 Posted April 27, 2011 They should wait until they are on the clock to see if they want to trade out of the pick because I believe AJ Green would fit their needs perfectly.

Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted April 27, 2011 possibly the Texans if Peterson is still on the board... Peterson is probably at the top of our board at the moment. Holmgren has a long history of taking DB's early.
Barracuda 629 Posted April 27, 2011 Our board goes Peterson, Dareus, Von Miller, Green. If any of them are available I don't know why we would trade down...
Turry 755 Posted April 27, 2011 The Browns are expected to pass on North Carolina DE/OLB Robert Quinn if he's available at the No. 6 overall pick. The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot calls Quinn "too risky," apparently because of the benign brain tumor that cost him his senior year in high school. Nothing has been reported substantially, but there are rumors that Quinn could fall out of the top ten due to the "condition." The Browns have a major need at defensive end, so it says something that they'd pass. Related: BrownsSource: Mary Kay Cabot on Twitter
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted April 27, 2011 Robert Quinn somehow moving all the way to 13 would be epic. Too epic.....
BLUE 1,026 Posted April 28, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: CBS Sports' Clark Judge predicts that the Browns at No. 6 will be a "hot spot" for trade action with teams trying to trade up for LSU CB Patrick Peterson. There's already been discussion of the Patriots trading up with the Browns to nab Robert Quinn or Peterson. Peterson is expected to be available for Arizona at No. 5. The Cards could take him, of course, and that's exactly what Rick Gosselin has them doing. If Arizona opts for pass rush, however, the Browns will likely immediately get numerous calls from teams wanting Peterson. NaTaS+ 958 Posted April 28, 2011 None of the talking heads locally have us trading down if Peterson is available unless its a 'too good to be true' trade.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted April 28, 2011 I'd be really surprised if the Cards did not grab a pass rusher with the number 5 pick... IDK their draft philosophy, but they have a gaping hole at that department.
Tridentdawgpound 1,043 Posted April 28, 2011 If we're gonna trade down with Peterson on the board it better be New England giving up 17 and 28.
AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted April 28, 2011 A league source tells Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe that the Patriots have contacted the Browns about the No. 6 overall pick, with North Carolina DE/OLB Robert Quinn as their "likely" target. Bedard recently speculated about this possibility, and he now has a source telling him it's legit. Bedard isn't ready to rule out Patrick Peterson or Julio Jones as New England's target, however. Quinn would probably make the most sense. He fits the Patriots' profile as a big-bodied, explosive pass rusher and that is a major need position. Turry 755 Posted April 28, 2011 Speaking of the patriots. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Patriots are "looking" to trade into Dallas' No. 9 spot to select Cal DE Cameron Jordan.Related: Cowboys, PatriotsSource: Chris Mortensen on Twitter
Turry 755 Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) ESPN's Adam Schefter is shooting down colleague Chris Mortensen's "buzz" that the Patriots could trade into the No. 9 spot to select Cal DE Cam Jordan. The two teams brokered a deal last year when the Cowboys traded up to grab Dez Bryant, but Schefter says a Jerry Jones-Robert Kraft trade "will not happen" again this year. ESPN's Michael Smith, on site in New England, reports the Patriots don't value any five-technique ends enough to deal into the top-ten. We suspect the report was planted by the Cowboys, who desperately want to get out of the nine hole. Turry 755 Posted April 28, 2011 Browns GM Tom Heckert confirmed that he's talked trade with at least 6-7 teams, but he's yet to speak with the Patriots. It's safe to rule out the speculation that the Pats would deal up to No. 6 to select North Carolina's Robert Quinn. The Patriots are always connected to trade rumors, but they're more likely to move back than up.
