Miles Teller is Reed Richards, Kate Mara is Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan is Johnny Storm, and Jamie Bell is Ben Grimm.
At least, that’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, whose sources say 20th Century Fox is close to closing deals with the four actors for its new film based on Marvel’s Fantastic Four comics created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee.
Directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle), the new FF movie would seem to be very different from the previous live-action efforts and comics. Notably, all four actors are only in their mid-to-late 20s. Teller in particular is only 26, which inspires quite a different image than the stern and grey-templed Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic we know from the comics and films. Likewise, Jordan does not resemble the comic book version of the Human Torch, who’s traditionally depicted as a young white man with blond hair, but as we’ve said before, that’s probably a good idea, and speaks to a trend in colorblind casting that we’ve seen manifest in other filmed comic book projects.
Jordan previously collaborated with Trank on Chronicle, and is best known for his superlative work on The Wire and Fruitvale Station. He also appeared with his new FF co-star Miles Teller in That Awkward Moment. Mara has numerous credits including a role in Marvel’s Iron Man 2, but her work on Netflix’s House of Cards has really blown her up recently. Jamie Bell is well known to fans of comic book films for his starring role in The Adventures of Tintin.

I've been in love with Kate Mara for years and Michael B. Jordan is a good actor. Might have to watch the F4 reboot after all.

http://variety.com/2014/film/news/marvel-black-widow-scarlett-johansson-1201104415/

Marvel Studios is developing a film that would revolve around Black Widow, the character played by Scarlett Johansson in the “Iron Man” and “The Avengers” franchises.Studio president Kevin Feige has long been high on the character even before her role was expanded for April’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” When promoting the homevideo release for “Iron Man 2,” in 2010, he said, “We’ve already started discussions with Scarlett (Johansson) about the idea of a solo movie and have begun putting together concepts, but ‘The Avengers’ comes first.”

But Feige is once again discussing the prospects for a Black Widow film now that “The Winter Soldier” is about to be released on April 4.

“We wanted to change the dynamic of the cinematic universe with this film,” Feige told Total Film magazine in a new interview about the “Captain America” sequel. “We wanted Cap and really the entire cinematic universe to be very different at the end of ‘Winter Soldier’ than it is at the beginning.”

According to Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, Black Widow’s storyline in “The Winter Soldier” revolves around “her coming to terms with her history, that she’s been a spy, and spies aren’t necessarily trustworthy,” he told Total Film.

That will be further explored in “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” out in 2015. Film starts production in March.

“(Black) Widow’s part in that is very big,” Feige said. “We learn more about her past and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film. The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that. When we meet the Avengers at the top of ‘Age of Ultron,’ it’s a very different landscape than we left them at the end of the first film. Partially, that’s because we love the rhythm that the comicbooks have developed — each of the characters appear in their runs, occasionally they get together for a big event or crossover series, they part again, and then they come back together again.”

It’s unclear whether Marvel hopes to have a Black Widow movie become part of its third phase of films, which so far includes “Ant-Man,” “Doctor Strange” and the third installments of “The Avengers” and “Captain America.”

Phase two includes “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

I got the Thor: The Dark World bluray today and saw the One Shot with Ben Kingsley. It was pretty good, but I'm not sure they actually plan on running with the whole real Mandarin thing. More of a nod to say that the Mandarin exists. But the Sam Rockwell cameo was hilarious.

I posted this in the TV thread too. Deal with it. :p

It seems after months of internet hate, the (highly rated) ABC series is about to become the show people have wanted it to be since the beginning. A show that does the comic book thing. A show that says it lives in a world, the world in this case being the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But it couldn’t have gotten here overnight, because had it been this show out of the gate, it would have failed catastrophically.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a show that needed to be built away from the gimmick of the MCU connected world. As Joss Whedon perfectly put it during development “we couldn’t have a show that said ‘Iron Man was just here, but he left right before you showed up’.” Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. needed to take time being its own thing. Living by its own rules. Now that it has, Marvel’s finally ready to unleash the beast that is the most daring attempt at trans-media ever made by a major studio.

Arrow's badassery continues to grow with every episode. Hopefully Slade ends up killing Laurel since she is the worst character ever. But I think he will end up killing Sarah. He knows Ollie chose her over Shado and that he has feelings for her and will target her. I don't think his family will end up dead, but he'll lose Sarah and go through some inner battles because of it. Which is what Slade wants.

That would be too obvious, I think. Killing Laurel would be better for the show, in general. IMO.

Also, first full-body shot of Flash.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/mystery-solved-captain-america-3-688384

The mystery has been solved -- the untitled Marvel Studios tentpole that Warner Bros.' Batman and Superman movie will go up against on May 6, 2016, is Captain America 3, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

That's the plan, anyway, creating the biggest superhero box office showdown in history. (Marvel Studios and parent company Disney staked out the date first.) Shooting schedules and postproduction could always impact the current blueprint, however. Also, Marvel and Disney have a second untitled movie scheduled to open that summer on July 8, so there is wiggle room.

Marvel films have all but owned the first weekend of summer for the past decade to enormous success, so all of Hollywood was surprised when Warner Bros. announced in January that it would open Batman-Superman on May 6, 2016 as well.

Batman-Superman stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill once again as Superman. It was originally supposed to hit theaters in summer 2015, but its release was pushed back nearly a year. There's no doubt that Warner Bros. is hoping to replicate the blockbuster returns Marvel has enjoyed with its multihero Avengers universe.

This week, when promoting the upcoming sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige threw down the gauntlet, saying he had no plans to move off the May 6 date. He still wouldn't reveal the identity of the film; however, insiders confirm it will indeed be Captain America 3. The world premiere of Winter Soldier is Thursday in Hollywood.

Warner Bros. may have been waiting to see what the Marvel title was before considering a date change for Batman-Superman, if the studio blinks. There are still weekends available that summer, including the first two after Captain America 3 and Batman-Superman are set to open. Zack Snyder begins shooting Batman-Superman in the coming weeks.

Veteran box office observers doubt that the two films will ultimately open opposite each other.

Marvel and Disney are incredibly high on Captain America 2, which opens in north America on April 4 and is garnering huge interest, according to prerelease tracking.

They believe Winter Soldier, with Chris Evans returning in the title role, will benefit from the same halo effect from The Avengers that Iron Man 3 and sequel Thor: The Dark World enjoyed, as well as firmly establishing Captain America as a standalone franchise.

Brothers Anthony and Joe Russo directed Winter Soldier and are in talks to return for Captain America 3.

The first, Captain America: The First Avenger, took in $371 million worldwide, compared to $668 million for Man of Steel. However, Winter Soldier has a shot at matching the $641 million grossed worldwide by fellow Marvel sequel Thor: The Dark World late last year.

and

IGN's review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The film not only serves as a strong follow-up to Cap’s first outing, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Joss Whedon’s ensemble juggernaut The Avengers, it also has the strongest ties to and most profound impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe at large. The repercussions of the events of this film will reverberate throughout all of Marvel’s properties.

Perhaps more to the point, the film is one of, if not the strongest individual installments to date. One part spy thriller, one part character journey, one part visceral action movie, and one part straight-up superhero adventure film, The Winter Solider hits all of the right notes and serves as an example of the very best of what comic book movies have to offer. The scale of the film alone is unprecedented for Marvel. If feels as though the studio has taken every lesson they’ve learned in terms of how to construct and effectively execute an action sequence and integrated it into one elaborate and gorgeous piece of spectacle. It’s all right there on the sceen.

The new Cap movie just looks epic and I've been thinking it is going to be the best solo Marvel film yet, some of these early reviews make me feel more confident in that.

The X-Men version of Quicksilver is lame. They've sucked at designing characters for these movies IMO with a few exceptions.

Fox has zeroed in on newcomer Toby Kebbell to play the “Fantastic Four” team’s arch nemesis Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom.

If a deal makes, Kebbell would join Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell in the reboot that plans to shoot this spring.

Based on the Marvel comic “The Ultimate Fantastic Four,” the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women. Josh Trank will helm the pic with Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Gregory Goodman serving as producers.

“The Fantastic Four” is slated to bow June 19, 2015. A second installment is due in summer 2017.

Kebbell, whose long list of strong supporting roles include “War Horse,” “The East” and Legendary’s upcoming adaptation of “Warcraft,” is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group.
