Bay 2,003 Posted July 21, 2012 Disappointments: Ricky Romero - Had a 2.96 ERA last year and right now sports a 5 + ERA and horrible WHIP. Josh Becket/Jon Lester - the Aces of the Red Sox staff are anything but at this point. Adrian Gonzales - the low power is what is making fantasy owners sad. Still has a good average and quality RBI total. Jose Reyes - Hasn't been what he is capable of quite yet. 1st half Albert Surprises: A.J. Pierzynski Alcides Escobar Alex Rios Kyle Seager Austin Jackson A.J. Burnett/James McDonald Mike Trout Bold = have or had them in fantasy. Just to name a bunch. Sarge can fill in the rest. BwareDWare94 723 Posted July 22, 2012 I did not realize Jason Kubel was having such a great year. He could be in the run for NL MVP. God, I wish the Twins would have kept him. As much as I love both Span and Revere, Kubel and Willingham are both just as dangerous at the plate with added power. Span or Revere could play center and we could trade the other. SteVo+ 3,702 Posted July 22, 2012 For the Phils...more disappointments in the bullpen than surprises on the entire team. Surprises: Carlos Ruiz Vance Worley Juan Pierre Disappointments: Chad Qualls Antonio Bastardo Jose Contreras Jonathan Papelbon John Mayberry Jr. Jimmy Rollins Shane Victorino
Sarge+ 3,436 Posted July 22, 2012 I gotta add Pedro Alvarez to this list. People were calling him a bust before this season. Well that bust now has 21 HR and it's only July 22nd. I have to admit, I didn't see him playing quite this well. I thought he would end the year with around 20 HR. Well now he's looking like a 30+ HR bat. Bay 2,003 Posted July 30, 2012 (edited) For the Yankees: Disappointing: Hiroki Kuroda Boone Logan I forget to do this earlier but if you mean for the whole season you are clearly wrong. And how has Logan been a disappointment? Edited July 30, 2012 by BayAreaBomber
Piggly Wiggly 960 Posted July 30, 2012 I did not realize Jason Kubel was having such a great year. He could be in the run for NL MVP. lol, no. Besides, he sucks ass on the road. His home and road splits are almost CarGo-esque.
housemd 338 Posted July 30, 2012 I forget to do this earlier but if you mean for the whole season you are clearly wrong. And how has Logan been a disappointment? Logan hasn't been disappointing,my mistake,I was thinking Cory Wade..I always mix those two lol.. As for Kuroda,he hasn't been disappointing the whole season..He was terrible in April and May and his ERA was constantly around 4.00..Then he had a good month of June, his last two starts in June were great and then his ERA dropped to 3.17..He was very inconsistent in July, his ERA going up and down,etc.. Milla4Prez63 678 Posted July 30, 2012 I'm disappointed only one of you named Fernando Rodney as a surprise. Everyone lol'd when the Rays signed him, but he's been an All Star and has an ERA of like 0.80.
