BLUE 1,026 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: Free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw is visiting the Colts Thursday. It's the first known interest since the draft in Bradshaw, who is 27 years old and coming off yet another foot surgery. The Colts have perhaps the least talented running back stable in football with Vick Ballard, Donald Brown and Delone Carter. As a solid pass-catcher and protector who still runs with fury, Bradshaw would fit nicely in Pep Hamilton's West Coast scheme. He could even emerge as the starter. Bradshaw averaged 4.59 YPC on 221 totes for the Giants last year and added 23 catches for 245 yards. Dutch 874 Posted June 6, 2013 This would be a great move for the Colts and would help their football club. Bradshaw is a tough runner and would be a good acquisition for this team. He may be able to bring a balance to this offense that was completely reliant on Luck's arm. If Bradshaw can stay healthy, he could take some pressure off Luck. AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted June 6, 2013 Would like this move for the Colts a lot. You do have to wonder though how healthy Bradshaw really is, considering he has been a FA for so long. The guy definitely has talent.
BLUE 1,026 Posted June 6, 2013 Per Rotoworld.com: NFL Network's Kimberly Jones reports the Colts and free agent Ahmad Bradshaw are negotiating a contract, and it "looks like a deal will get done."Bradshaw is in Indy at this very moment. The Indianapolis Star also believes the Colts' interest in the 27-year-old is "serious," not routine tire-kicking. The fit couldn't be better. The Colts' backfield lacks talent, and Bradshaw could easily take over lead-back duties from Vick Ballard. Bradshaw is perfect for OC Pep Hamilton's West Coast offense as a supreme blocker and pass catcher. We could hear something by the end of the night. Jules 98 Posted June 6, 2013 Thanks for the info BLUE. I can dig it if it happens and it looks like it might.
Jules 98 Posted June 7, 2013 NFL Network's Kimberly Jones reports talks between the Colts and free agent Ahmad Bradshaw have reached a "stalemate." "Contract described earlier as close to done now may not be," added Jones. Bradshaw may be looking for too much money. If so, he isn't going to find the cash anywhere. Bradshaw missed the big money while he was recovering from foot surgery early on in the free-agent process. We should know more on Friday.
housemd 338 Posted June 7, 2013 He was supposed to be a Steeler.
BradyFan81 404 Posted June 7, 2013 I think that would be a great signing for them. Definitely too pass heavy last season
Jules 98 Posted June 8, 2013 Nothing yet.... Probably money. As usual. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/6/7/4407854/nfl-news-ahmad-bradshaw-colts-brett-favre-packers-ravens-super-bowl-rings hmad Bradshaw was all set to become the newest member of the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, all he needed to do was work out a contract. Turns out that (surprise!) coming to an agreement with an NFL franchise is actually pretty difficult. According to reports Friday, Bradshaw and the Colts are still far apart on a deal, though negotiations aren't dead yet. Bradshaw is arguably the best available free agent on the market, and would be a nice fit in a pass-happy Colts offense thanks to his blocking and receiving skills. If the two sides are finally able to come to an agreement, either Delone Carter or Donald Brown could be released to make room.
Dutch 874 Posted June 8, 2013 It would be nice if they came to an agreement. I said not too long ago Bradshaw to the Colts would be a nice fit. Ahmad Bradshaw- I thought the Steelers or Broncos would pick him up. The Colts or the Cardinals don't seem like bad ideas either.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted June 8, 2013 It's pretty clear Bradshaw wants too much, compared to the market. He can't work out a deal with any of the numerous teams that have shown him interest. What else is there to do?

Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted June 8, 2013 Packers, Steelers, and Bengals showed interest prior to the draft. He, apparently, wasn't fully healthy, and he didn't want that to effect his contract, so he refused to work out for anybody IIRC. He waited, and the Bengals took a RB high. The Steelers got Le'veon Bell in the... 4th? And the Packers took two RBs.

What else is there to do? Can't agree more. It's always a question of supply and demand. Right now, there isn't much demand.
IndyColt500 12 Posted June 11, 2013 According to: @Colts_News NFL Rumors – Indianapolis Colts Close to Signing Ahmad Bradshaw http://t.co/JWDFZEgJF0 I personally would be stoked if we sign Bradshaw, esp when healthy, dude is a beast! If we sign Bradshaw, then either Brown or Carter will be going. Carter has a lot of potential though.. His main problem, which is huge, is that he has not adjusted to the NFL. Some of this is how Caldwell handled Carter after his fumbles, and the rest is directly on Carter. He was a strong heavy back that rarely fumbled in his college days. Even his fumbles his rookie year were more fluke hits then his own stupid fault. He could/would/should have added a very solid bruiser back. But, he didn’t… The likely thing is Carter losing his spot so we can keep both Havili and Moore. Neither are traditional FBs which allows them to take Carter’s spot and excel at it. But Bradshaw is more a threat to Brown then Carter. Bradshaw has been a open field terror; what we all hoped Brown would become. Bradshaw has been more successfully versatile then Brown. Dutch 874 Posted June 11, 2013 Great move by the Colts. He will make a nice addition to the Colts offense. With the acquisition of Heyward-Bey as well, I think the Colts upgraded immensely. They didn't acquire superstars but they signed players that bring good elements to their football team that will make them better. I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts made a move for Vonta Leach now.

UndecidedFrog 12 Posted June 15, 2013 I also like the signing. If he is healthy enough to play, he will contribute.
housemd 338 Posted June 15, 2013 The Indianapolis Star projects Ahmad Bradshaw as the Colts' starting tailback, ahead of Vick Ballard. We've anticipated the same; Bradshaw is an upgrade on Ballard in pretty much every area, from pass protection to big-play run skills. The Indy Star does concede Bradshaw may open training camp on the active/PUP list as the Colts manage his recovery from foot surgery. He hasn't practiced with the team yet. Due to Bradshaw's injury history, the Colts could wind up keeping four running backs on the 53-man roster. Bradshaw and Ballard are locked in, and rookie Kerwynn Williams is expected to be Indianapolis' primary kickoff returner. Donald Brown and Delone Carter will compete for one roster spot. Glanvilles Grits 142 Posted June 15, 2013 If they can keep Bradshaw healthy, this could be an absolute awesome signing for the Colts. They were in real need of a running back last season. Now they have one.
