BLUE 1,026 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) I decided to group them separately, but you can combine them if you want. Also, you can link to your favorite song if you want to, but it's not necessary. GA_Eagle 595 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) 1.The Beatles - No idea which is my favorite song. Here's Helter Skelter: 2. The Who - The Seeker: 3. Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls - 4. Talking Heads - Psycho Killer - Love this version from Stop Making Sense https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pCZ5E5tn4I 5. Violent Femmes - Country Death Song - Greatest Fan Vid ever - I'll get some solo artists later... also opinions on what makes a classic rock band would be nice because those last two were kind of the beginnings of alternative along with a few others and still get play on alt rock stations occasionally. I pretty much went by any band that released an album in the early 80's or before was fair game... Edited July 22, 2013 by GA_Eagle

SteVo+ 3,702 Posted July 22, 2013 1) Led Zeppelin: Hey Hey What Can I Do 2) Pink Floyd: 3) Rush: 4) The Who: 5) Yes: Starship Trooper Links aren't to my favorites (since everyone's heard them), but rather to songs I think are underrated a little bit. As for solo artists, the only one I would say I really like is Elton John. And no, I don't consider Jimi Hendrix to be solo.
BLUE 1,026 Posted July 22, 2013 Yeah, you're probably right about Hendrix. Maybe I'll change the pick later.

BLUE 1,026 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) For some reason I love Blackbird by the Beatles. It's simple and short, but it's one of my favorite songs by them. It's probably due to nostalgia because I used to hang out with huge Beatles fans in the mid-90s. Edited July 24, 2013 by BLUE
theMileHighGuy 656 Posted July 30, 2013 You know me. Tiers. Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd The Beatles The Doors Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers / Tom Petty (solo) The Jimi Hendrix Experience / Band of Gypsys / Jimi Hendrix (solo) Warren Zevon Nice He is #1 on my list but I wasn't sure people would consider him classic rock. Single greatest songwriter of all time.
Barracuda 629 Posted July 30, 2013 It's really tough to narrow this down to 5. I lumped in a few more southern rock bands from the era that I love. I know I have 12 bands here but I can't live with myself not listing them. Groups: In no particular order Creedence Clearwater Revival Led Zeppelin Misty Mountain Hop The Who Charlie Daniels Band The Eagles Life in the Fast Lane Allman Brothers The Doors Hyacinth House Rush Limelight Grateful Dead Dire Wolf Grinderswitch Pickin' the Blues Marshall Tucker Band Rolling Stones Solo: In no particular order JJ Cale Bob Dylan Blowin' in the Wind Eric Clapton John Prine Neil Young
