Vin+ 3,121 Posted August 28, 2014 Cowboys waived CB B.W. Webb. It's an admission of failure from owner/GM Jerry Jones, who made Webb the No. 114 overall pick of last year's draft. The move is in spite of the Cowboys' depth issues at cornerback. Webb was routinely roasted on his 185 defensive snaps as a rookie, and hadn't looked improved in the spring or preseason. His age (24) and draft pedigree should get him another look in relatively short order, however. Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter

BradyFan81 404 Posted August 29, 2014 Cutting 4th round picks a year after you take them; strong business model.
BwareDWare94 723 Posted August 29, 2014 Yeah, because it's not the people who coach the secondary that are the problem. You can't tell me that Carr would be as bad anywhere else, that Claiborne would have busted anywhere else, etc. Dallas needs a new goddamn staff.
Cherry 1,302 Posted August 29, 2014 Carr wouldn't be as bad, but Claiborne makes himself uncoachable with his punkass diva attitude. Can't blame that on coaches, just upper management taking a shit character guy.
KempBolt 498 Posted August 29, 2014 When things are going awry the way they are in Dallas, the answer to the question of coaching vs. management being the big problem is usually: yes. The staff isn't developing day three talent very well, and Jerry & Co are making some highly questionable decisions on day three of the draft. Exacerbating the issue is that Jerry is also hiring coaches who aren't developing talent very well. But I think fans of Dallas are always going to tend towards blaming the coaching staff over the front office as a means of psychological self preservation. They know that Jerry isn't really going to relinquish control so they try to believe that the staff is to blame, because that part of the equation will change. BwareDWare94 723 Posted August 30, 2014 (edited) I'm so close to giving up on this team. Join the dark bright side. Giving up on Webb so early is pathetic. Yes, he graded out terribly, but at the same time, I saw him show signs in the time he was given last year. Just throwing up your hands and walking away is ridiculous, especially at a position that has yet to define itself as a strength, which it should be. The secondary issues in Dallas have a lot more to do with the coaches than the players. God, I wish Rob Ryan was still there.
