BLUE 1,026 Posted March 14, 2016 Per Rotoworld.com: Ravens signed FS Eric Weddle, formerly of the Chargers, to a four-year, $26 million contract. The deal includes $13 million guaranteed. Weddle was reportedly deciding between four teams. Although he remained one of the league's best safeties in 2015, the Chargers made no effort to re-sign a player they took with the No. 37 overall pick of the 2007 draft. There's bad blood, with Weddle saying he may never speak to the team again. Weddle fills a huge need for the Ravens, who received ineffective play opposite SS Will Hill in 2015. Although he's now 31, Weddle has missed only three games since 2009. Weddle is a playmaker who doubles as a tackling machine at the back end of the defense. Cherry 1,302 Posted March 14, 2016 Why is McLeod making more than Weddle?
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted March 14, 2016 I think that comes down to it being the Eagles. The Eagles have thrown a ton of money around so far and their secondary has been atrocious for years. It was such a glaring hole, that they almost needed to throw desperate dollars at a young promising player like McLeod.
ATL_Predator+ 1,196 Posted March 15, 2016 Weddle said he wanted to play for a contender... Yet. The Ravens aren't even the best team in that division...and the Steelers are a few pieces away on defense from becoming SB fav's in the AFC. Loser. 1

Maverick 791 Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) Weddle said he wanted to play for a contender... Yet. The Ravens aren't even the best team in that division...and the Steelers are a few pieces away on defense from becoming SB fav's in the AFC. Loser. I'm not saying the Ravens are a contender, but just because they aren't the best team in the division doesn't mean they're not a contender. For the record, I don't think the Ravens are a contender, and I hate them. Just pointing out the logic you used is flawed, Churles. Cherry 1,302 Posted March 15, 2016 Panthers were seen as an 8-8 shitsquad then nearly won it all. The idea of a definitive contender is silly. 49ers did the same shit Harbaugh's first year.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted March 15, 2016 Panthers were seen as an 8-8 shitsquad then nearly won it all. The idea of a definitive contender is silly. 49ers did the same shit Harbaugh's first year. Small dif: Carolina played the NFC South, NFC East and AFC South. All three divisions were awful this year with the single exception of Carolina. The Ravens are in the AFC North, so four tough games right there and will play the NFC East- which will likely be better than last year- and the AFC East. A much harder schedule than the Panthers had.
