Positional Rankings--Skill Players (by Division)

Recommended Posts

As a Vikings fan, I'll take the NFC North:

PLEASE NOTE: This was an off the top of my head idea that I typed up in 5-10 minutes, so if there is anybody glaringly missing, it is not intentional.

Quarterback:

1. Rodgers (Green Bay)

2. Stafford (Detroit)

3. Cutler (Chicago)--Please note that Cutler immediately surpasses Stafford if his play from last year continues.

4. Bridgewater (Minnesota)

Running Back:

I'll rank every player looking to get a decent workload:

1. Peterson (Minnesota)

2. Lacy (Green Bay)

3. Langford (Chicago)--will surpass Lacy if he shows consistency

4. Abdullah (Detroit)--will surpass Lacy if he shows consistency

5. McKinnon (Minnesota)--Would be higher if Peterson wasn't going to get 85% of carries)

6. Riddick (Detroit)--will surpass McKinnon if he stays healthy

7. Starks (Green Bay)

8. Zenner (Detroit)--Look for Zenner to steal carries if Abdullah is hit or miss like last year.

Wide Receiver:

1. Nelson (Green Bay)

2. Jeffrey (Chicago)

3. Tate (Detroit)

4. Boldin (Detroit)

5. Cobb (Green Bay)

6. Jones (Detroit)

7. Diggs (Minnesota)

8. Adams (Green Bay)

9. Wright (Minnesota)

Kevin White withheld because of no NFL snaps. Same as Laquon Treadwell.

Tight End:

1. Rudolph (Minnesota)--He sucks the least of all these guys.

2. Miller (Chicago)--He will surpass Rudolph if he fills in nicely for Bennett.

3. Cook (Green Bay)--Strictly if he returns to form

4. Ebron (Detroit)--Consistency, please?

5. Quarless (Green Bay)

6. Rodgers (Green Bay)

7. Pettigrew (Detroit)

8. Ellison (Minnesota)

9. Pruitt (Minnesota)--will rise significantly if Rudolph sucks, as expected.

Langford averaged 3.6 a carry last year though. :slingblade:

Also Stafford > Cutler if Stafford looks like second half of 2015 Stafford. 19 TDs to 2 INTs after based Jim Bob Cooter took over.

I'll give the AFC South a shot, I'm gonna start with doing this by memory the look up to make sure I don't forget anyone major (and I'll indicate anyone I forgot initially with a *):

QB:

Andrew Luck

Blake Bortles

Marcus Mariota

Brock Osweiler

this is a tough group because only one player really has much of a sample size, and even that isn't that large, this could look at lot different by the end of the season

RB:
Lamar Miller

DeMarco Murray

Frank Gore

TJ Yeldon

Derrick Henry

Chris Ivory

Robert Turbin* (couldn't come up with who was backing up Gore)

Alfred Blue

Holy Committees Batman, talk about a mess of mediocrity, Henry is probably the most likely to move up, Gore is probably the most likely to move down (he's gotta get old at some point, right?)

WR:
DeAndre Hopkins

Allen Robinson

Allen Hurns

TY Hilton

Cecil Shorts* (forgot he was still in the division)

Andre Johnson (much as I hate to admit it, he's probably already our best WR)

Donte Moncrief* (couldn't for the life of me come up with the Colts' #2)

Kendall Wright

Rishard Matthews

That's a pretty damn good top four, then a huge drop off

TE:

Delanie Walker

Julius Thomas

Dwayne Allen* (couldn't remember which TE Indy still had)

Craig Stevens

Marcedes Lewis

Anthony Fasano

I promise, I looked up Houston's tight ends, didn't recognize any of them so they don't get a spot, sorry Fart

Don't sweat it. The Texans have the absolute worst tight end situation in the entire league.

well, after stretching it to include a couple Titans WRs at the bottom of my list, I felt like I owed an explanation

gotta disagree with you on that, Flacco may not be a great quarterback, but he's way ahead of Griffin and Kessler's a rookie, no way I'd put either of them ahead of Flacco

Flacco is known for being better than he really is IMO. He is a turnover machine. Not saying Griffin isn't bad for turnovers either, but I trust that Hue gets him to a place where he can at least score 15 TDs to every 9 or 10 INTs. Last year's Flacco was terribad and I don't think it improves this year.

but you apparently didn't think highly enough of Griffin to not list him as in tight competition with a rookie for the starting spot, again I don't think Flacco is that good, but he's better than the guy who got chased out of DC and a rookie

I think Kessler is plenty fine to be in competition with. And I think a lot of RGIII's issues came from a toxic environment in DC that ruined who he was as a player.

Also Flacco is a slapdick.

Aside from one season where he had 22, Flacco has never had more than 12 picks in a season and the most fumbles he has ever had in a season was 3, which doesn't specify whether those fumbles were lost or not. Flacco is not even close to a turnover machine.

Last year he had 14 TDs to 12 INTs. In a league where guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick is like 31 TDs to 15 INTs. I'm not talking about the years before last year. If we're speaking strictly how he has looked lately, he has looked like shit. And coming off an ACL tear with virtually no changes to the team, he is likely going to look like shit again. Give me a mediocre Kessler or a well-coached RGIII over the train wreck that is Joe Flacco right now.

ROFL you're being ridiculous. Baltimore was plagued by injuries last year. For most of the season, Flacco's primary targets were Kamar Aikan and something called Crockett Gilmore. Flacco shits all over RG3 as of right now and all over anything Kessler has of a career. Either way, he's not a turnover machine by any means and if his weapons stay healthy this season, Baltimore will be a playoff team.

The QB position is so strange. Look within the AFCN division, for instance. Andy Dalton can set fire to a defense on any given Sunday, while he can also shit himself and single-handedly lose the game. There are so many guys that we simply don't know what to expect out of each and every week.

Why is the guy sitting at 3rd in the depth chart of the worst team in the AFC North even being mentioned? Lol.

Also you're gonna have to explain Rudolph being #1, I'd argue he isn't even better then Ebron...

It's the fucking Browns. I could've brought up Austin Davis and it'd be reasonable.
