Thanatos 2,847 Posted April 26, 2017 Why are the top two teams in the regular season playing each other in round 2? I understand they could be in round 3, given that they're in the same conference, but wtf.

SteVo+ 3,702 Posted April 26, 2017 It essentially sets up a bracket of four teams for each division, so in a scenario like this year where the Metro is loaded, the top two conference teams are prevented from playing in the conference finals.

BJORN 679 Posted April 27, 2017 Maybe the Caps got their bad play out of the way against Toronto and elevate their game for the Penguins...maybe...probably not...
Thanatos 2,847 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) No penalties on the Pens throughout an entire game of hockey- especially with what happened in the last seven minutes- is ludicrous. Edited April 28, 2017 by Thanatos
oochymp 2,393 Posted April 28, 2017 Really felt like we dominated the third period, but they got one good break, I didn't actually watch the first two periods tho, so I can't comment on two thirds of the game

BJORN 679 Posted April 28, 2017 Should be complaining about Orpik's terrible positioning more so than 2 (valid) calls that didn't effect the outcome of the game.

Thanatos 2,847 Posted April 30, 2017 Another typical Caps chokejob incoming. Holtby is playing awful, but you still can't pull a goaltender in the 2nd period in a playoff game. Lmao Trotz.
Thanatos 2,847 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) Just because Sidney Crosby gets hit in the head does not automatically mean its a penalty. Man lost his balance clearly. Niskanen receiving a major and a game misconduct from that is complete horse shit. Edited May 2, 2017 by Thanatos
blotsfan 2,112 Posted May 3, 2017 Different rules for the pens, man.
oochymp 2,393 Posted May 3, 2017 At least the league had the sense to not compound the mistake I do hope Crosby is okay, at this point he's had enough concussions to really worry about the effects outside of hockey
BJORN 679 Posted May 3, 2017 The real problem is Ovechkin's blatant slash to the back of Crosby's head which had him falling in the first place. Frankly, he should be suspended for that.

That should have been a penalty, not the Niskanen hit. But a suspension? No. I've seen far worse in this series alone, lol. It just got so compounded because of the Niskanen hit afterwards.
