Vin+ 3,121 Posted March 23, 2011 Steelers QB Charlie Batch filed for bankruptcy in December. Batch's bankruptcy filing lists $8.3 million in liabilities and $2.3 million in assets. He may end up losing his two Super Bowl rings to pay off the debt. Batch is the second veteran QB in two years to file for bankruptcy, joining the Jets' Mark Brunell. Titanswin472 29 Posted March 23, 2011 That would suck hard for him if he has to give up his Super Bowl rings
Phenomenal TJ 28 Posted March 24, 2011 Uh oh. It never looks good when the guy running a charity foundation has to file for bankruptcy. Not that I'm implying anything, Charlie's one of the best of the best, but I expect those finances to be gone over with a fine toothed comb.
BigBen07 285 Posted March 24, 2011 (edited) That just plain sucks that he may have to lose his rings. Poor guy. Edited March 24, 2011 by BigBen07
Shotgun 442 Posted March 24, 2011 Another victim of the real estate market. It sucks that he may lose his rings.
Phenomenal TJ 28 Posted March 24, 2011 Apparently he's going to make payments and attempt to keep his stuff. Though, they might not accept that resolution, because his potential income for 2011 is currently up in the air.
KiLaSix9+ 398 Posted March 24, 2011 (edited) Another victim of the real estate market. It sucks that he may lose his rings. How was he a victim of the real estate market? Everyone keeps saying "poor guy, he might lose his rings" but my thought is "what did you do to owe FOUR times what you actually have in assets??" Shotgun 442 Posted March 24, 2011 How was he a victim of the real estate market? Everyone keeps saying "poor guy, he might lose his rings" but my thought is "what did you do to owe FOUR times what you actually have in assets??" He invested into property when there was money to be made. Once the real estate market crashed he started losing money and accumulated debt. It's happened to a lot of people. Maverick 791 Posted March 24, 2011 I'll take the fair side of the coin - won't be too harsh won't be too sympathetic. Yes, he only has himself to blame as far as his bankruptcy issues go, but I still feel for the guy that he may lose his Super Bowl rings.
Krawnka 282 Posted March 24, 2011 Right, only .855 Million last year... "Charlie has some pretty good earning capacity," Shiner said.
