AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted May 2, 2011 The first round of the NFL Draft has a true success rate of about 50%. If you had to predict half of them to succeed and half of them to bust, who would you pick? Boom Marcell Dareus Von Miller Patrick Peterson AJ Green Julio Jones J.J. DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) Nick Failrey would have to be one of the worse DT prospects in the history of the draft to be a bust with all the talent on our Dline... Just sayin... Boom Marcell Dareus Cam Newton A.J. Green Patrick Peterson (safety) Julio Jones Nick Fairley Cameron Jordan Mark Ingram Gabe Carimi Mickel LeShoure Bust: Von Miller Aldon Smith Tyron Smith (Unless if he plays RT) Blaine Gabbert JJ Watt Anthony Castonzo James Carpenter Muhammad Wilkerson There are a lot of guys in this year's draft that I believe will be serviceable, to solid, but never anything great. The bust section for me is more about players that won't live up to their draft position. I'm not saying he's going to be a complete bust per say, it's just there are things about him I don't like and he's going to be way overshadowed by Suh. Zack_of_Steel+ 3,014 Posted May 2, 2011 Wow. Dunno' how Heyward is on none of the boom/Pro Bowl lists. The Steelers have a knack for getting the most out of their players. Heyward fell farther than he should have.

Heyward fell farther than he should have. I agree but I'm never a fan of players with as much inconsistent tape as Heyward has. Sometimes he's dominant, sometimes he's really soft. Though if any team can eliminate the soft play, it's Pittsburgh.

Though if any team can eliminate the soft play, it's Pittsburgh. Completely disagree on the inconsistent tape. OSU doesn't have an extremely aggressive defense. Heyward looking "soft" is Heyward not being instructed to rush every down and inflate his numbers like some college prospects. Have you seen the tape where he drops back into coverage, spies, et cetera?

Zack_of_Steel+ 3,014 Posted May 2, 2011 I heard the same things about Vernon Gholston. Do they play the same position? Did Heyward get drafted by a crappy team with a crappy coaching staff? I could go on and on.

Bottom line is you have your opinion and I have mine. Time will tell what happens, though I don't see Heyward getting a whole lot of playing time this year as long as Kiesel stays healthy. SteVo+ 3,702 Posted May 2, 2011 Damn...lots of Clayborn hate...I disagree... Surprising. Not really Clayborn hate for me; I just think he would've been better suited in a 3-4. And after all, we can't predict 32 beasts.

I'm pretty sure Clayborn is a unanimous 4-3 DE. Even my man Mike Mayock says so...

Phenomenal TJ 28 Posted May 2, 2011 We could both go on and on. Bottom line is you have your opinion and I have mine. Time will tell what happens, though I don't see Heyward getting a whole lot of playing time this year as long as Kiesel stays healthy. He'll be in the rotation for sure. Should get plenty of snaps, same with Hood actually. Both DE's are old and get tired fairly quickly. Our DL is going to be awesome if Heyward lives up to expectations. Zack_of_Steel+ 3,014 Posted May 2, 2011 He can play in either but I personally believe he's a better fit in a 3-4. Uh, Clayborn is 6'3" 280. That's short and undersized for a 3-4 DE.
BucD+ 648 Posted May 2, 2011 Uh, Clayborn is 6'3" 280. That's short and undersized for a 3-4 DE. Not only that but apparently he was asked to gain some wait his senior year and when I watched the "Clayborn tour of One Buc Place" vid he jumped on the scale and said he's about 280-285 and said that Dominik and Morris told him he's gonna drop some weight to get his speed back.

Phenomenal TJ 28 Posted May 7, 2011 BUT OMG PHIL TAYLOR GUNNA TAKE ROETHLISBERGER DOWN Because getting 2.5 sacks in college means you can sack Ben Roethlisberger.
