Official 2012 Start/Sit Thread

Recommended Posts

Just thought it'd be a good idea to have one major thread for us TGPers to ask throughout the season fantasy advice on who to start/sit.

I'll start it off with...

Torrey Smith vs. Bengals

Titus Young vs. Rams

I'd start Titus Young. Facing a much worse defense than Torrey, plus I think he's become Stafford's #2 target.

I'm hoping so, because that's why I drafted him! I'm just worried he hasn't quite earned that #2 spot just yet and will be sharing time with Burleson.

I got one more.

Peyton Manning vs. Steelers (I'm starting Eric Decker)

Jay Cutler vs. Colts

Cutler. I don't like an iffy Manning against that D.

Unless the matchups are really that different, I'd just start who I drafted higher. Torrey Smith outperforms Titus Young.

This is one of the few weeks this year I'd recommend Cutler over Manning, every other week you should feel great about plugging in Peyton. You drafted him at a bargain price I'm sure, so turn him loose.

Miles Austin vs SEA

Stevan Ridley vs ARZ

Going with Ridley, I think, but it's a good question.

I made a mistake last week starting Eli over RG3 in our Yahoo league so I'll ask it for week 2:

Eli Manning vs Bucs

RG3 vs Rams

The Giants are playing the Bucs, not the Ravens.

I still say RG3.

Feel like I might get ridiculed for it, but....

Rodgers vs. Bears

or

RG3 vs. Rams

You can't sit A-Rod, especially not when RG3 is going against a Rams D that slowed Stafford considerably. it may be a fluke, but I trust the guy who is money in fantasy over a rookie with one good week under his belt.

i'd still go with Eli. I think RG3 is gonna fall back to earth this week.

Like Than said, you can't sit Rodgers.

:yeahthat:

Really wish I could fit Randall Cobb into my lineup. Have Cruz, Wallace, and Jordy Nelson. Greg Jennings is ruled doubtful for tonight. If anyone, I'd sit Wallace who might be dealing with some Revis/Cromartie action. Anyone think I should roll with Cruz/Nelson/Cobb? PPR if that matters.

Peyton Manning vs. Texans (Starting Eric Decker)

Jay Cutler vs. Rams

Not too fond of either right now to be honest, but I'm leaning more toward Manning. Any thoughts?

Cutler. I think Manning is more likely to use his run game more.

Having trouble deciding on who to flex...

Torrey Smith vs. Patriots (Dealing with the death of his brother)

Cedric Benson @ Seahawks

So in one of my better moves last week, I managed to snatch up Martellus Bennett in both my leagues. But I also got Pitta and Pettigrew splitting the other spot. So, first off...

Bennett vs. Eagles

or

Pettigrew vs. Vikings

and then...

Bennett vs. Eagles

or

Pitta vs. Browns

Gotta be honest, I'm torn on the first matchup. For the second one, I'm leaning towards Pitta. For wide receivers I have...

Vincent Jackson vs. Skins

or

Danny Amendola vs. Seahawks

and then...

Dez Bryant vs. Bears

or

Malcolm Floyd vs. Chiefs

I want pretty badly to lean towards Jackson, but with never knowing which version of him will show up to play, I almost feel like Danny has the chance to rack up more points for me on the short passing plays I anticipate against that stifling Seahawks coverage.

As for the other matchup, Floyd seems like the better choice, since Bryant has yet to have his 2012 coming out party, but I just don't know.

Takers?

I have these 2 in a couple leagues. I'm pretty sure I should give Flacco the start this week because of the matchup, right? Both games are at home for each player:

Tony Romo vs CHI

Joe Flacco vs CLE

Very tough with Flacco and Romo. Flacco seems to be a steady 10-15ish point per week guy, while Romo can be average or great. I kinda like Romo more, since he has a higher boom ceiling.

Is anyone else considering Tashard Choice? Spiller is out, and Jackson is going to play a little bit but is hurt. My flex is usually Mike Wallace as I have 3 great receivers, so it's either Choice or somebody crappy like Ogletree or Randall Cobb.
