Vin+ 3,121 Posted November 8, 2013 http://hosted.stats.com/fb/preview.asp?g=20131110009&home=9&vis=21 (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles both saw massive surprises at quarterback last week. As Green Bay's four-game win streak came to a stunning end after Aaron Rodgers went down with an injury, Philadelphia got back on track behind Nick Foles' historic performance. Now, the Packers will try to recover behind a journeyman backup while the Eagles hope for an encore from Foles on Sunday in Green Bay. It will mark just the third time in 372 games for the Packers (5-3) in which Brett Favre or Rodgers is not their starting quarterback. Seneca Wallace is expected to fill in for Rodgers, who said on his weekly radio show he suffered a fractured left collarbone on a first-quarter sack in Monday's 27-20 home loss to the Bears. Green Bay had won 29 of its last 31 regular-season games at Lambeau Field. "That's a significant injury," said Rodgers, whose 108.0 passer rating trails only Peyton Manning. "We'll know more about the severity and the timetable later this week." While Rodgers is expected to miss just his second start since taking over for Favre in 2008, coach Mike McCarthy said his quarterback's season isn't over. "I'm relieved, no doubt," McCarthy said. "How long? We don't have our hands around a timeline yet, but I know Aaron is very optimistic and he'll do everything he can to get back in a timely fashion." For the time being, Green Bay will have to rely on Wallace, who is 6-15 as a starter and has lost nine of his last 10 with the most recent coming Jan. 1, 2012, for Cleveland. Wallace, who wasn't in camp with the Packers, was 11 of 19 for 114 yards with an interception and was sacked four times after relieving Rodgers on Monday. He lost his lone start against Philadelphia on Nov. 2, 2008, completing 44.8 percent of his passes. Foles likely put an end to what has been a carousel at the position for the Eagles (4-5). He became the seventh player in NFL history to throw for seven TDs - and the only one with a perfect 158.3 passer rating - with a career-high 406 yards in a 49-20 victory at Oakland last Sunday. Philadelphia had managed 10 points in back-to-back losses. Even if Michael Vick were healthy - he's still unable to practice due to a hamstring injury - coach Chip Kelly likely would have had a hard time sending Foles back to the bench. Like his team, Foles has been much better on the road. He threw for three TDs and posted a 133.3 rating in a win at Tampa Bay on Oct. 13, then completed 11 of 29 passes for 80 yards in a 17-3 home loss to Dallas in which he suffered a concussion. While the Eagles have dropped 10 straight home games but are 4-1 on the road this year, Foles is 0-4 in home starts but has won three straight outside Philadelphia. "I think what happened in the Cowboys game was such a surprise to everybody because that's not what Nick expects out of himself, not what we expect out of him," Kelly said. "I thought that what happened in the Cowboys game was an exception, not the rule. That's not the Nick Foles I know." Foles found five different players for scores against the Raiders, including Riley Cooper for three. Cooper has caught 17 passes for 360 yards over his last four games. Sunday's matchup will feature two of the league's top running backs in LeSean McCoy and Eddie Lacy. McCoy ranks first with 777 rushing yards on the season but just 147 in the last three games, while Lacy's 545 since Oct. 1 are the most during that span. Lacy's 596 rushing yards as a rookie are already more than any Packer totaled in either of the last two seasons. He's averaged 23.8 carries over the last five games - a number that could increase should the Packers lean on their running game more with Rodgers sidelined. Green Bay ranks fifth in run defense at 94.5 yards per game, while Philadelphia gave up 210 yards on 33 carries to Oakland last week. The Packers won't see the return of tight end Jermichael Finley this season after placing him on injured reserve Tuesday. Finley will wait until 2014 to try to return from a spinal cord contusion suffered Oct. 20 versus Cleveland. They do hope to have Clay Matthews, who is practicing this week with a club on his hand after having pins removed from his injured right thumb. Matthews, who hasn't played since an Oct. 6 win over Detroit, said he thinks he can play. His brother, Casey, is a linebacker for Philadelphia. The Eagles are 4-16 all time at Green Bay. CampinWithaMissingPerson 2,025 Posted November 9, 2013 Most people took Philly in this one coming off their God Mode performance in Oakland and the Packers loss of Rodgers given how terrible Wallace looked. But I'm betting against the house, screw it, I say Lacy and Starks go God Mode on Philly's defense and Wallace doesn't have to do much. Paired with a couple timely turnovers by Philly and Green Bay wins this game. 23 26 (who am I kidding, I'm retarded, Philly will murder Green Bay. But I don't care, I'm taking the Packers.) Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted November 9, 2013 Eagles will try gang raping the Power Duo of Eddard Starks, but their real issue will be trying to contain the legednary Seneca Wallace... Good luck, Philly, you won't need it.
RazorStar 4,025 Posted November 9, 2013 If Seneca doesn't actively blow the game away, the Packers are about 10 times better than the Eagles.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted November 10, 2013 Eagles declared CB Bradley Fletcher (pectoral) inactive for Sunday's Week 10 game at Green Bay. It's a significant loss for the Eagles. Not only will they not have their top outside corner in Fletcher, but they'll have to move top slot corner Brandon Boykin out of his comfort zone. Expect Seneca Wallace to perform far better than he did after Aaron Rodgers got hurt last week. The rest of the Eagles inactives: QB Vick, RB Matt Tucker, LB Jake Knott, G Matt Tobin, T Dennis Kelly and WR B.J. Cunningham Packers OLB Clay Matthews (thumb) is active for Sunday's Week 10 game against the Eagles. It's Matthews' first game since fracturing his thumb in Week 5 and subsequently undergoing surgery. He'll wear a club on his right hand. The Packers are also getting OLB Nick Perry (foot) back Sunday, far earlier than expected. The Packers inactives: QB Aaron Rodgers, WR Chris Harper, CB James Nixon, LB Andy Mulumba, T Derek Sherrod, DE Josh Boyd and DE C.J. Wilson.
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted November 10, 2013 One half in, this is the worst performance by an officiating crew I've seen in quite awhile. A lot of obvious calls completely missed, especially facemasks and DPI/holding, affecting both sides.
seanbrock 1,684 Posted November 10, 2013 I'm really getting sick of seeing the Eagles miss tackles. This defense is an absolute joke and the Eagles play calling needs to be better.
SteVo+ 3,702 Posted November 10, 2013 Ugly game, but a win is always better than a loss. I have no doubt that if Aaron Rodgers were starting this game we would have gotten eviscerated.

Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted November 11, 2013 Pitiful performance all around. Tolzien looked alright at times but threw two crucial interceptions. The defense has been a big problem lately now. The secondary has been horrible lately and performed like shit today. Only Shields has performed well. Tramon Williams missed multiple int opportunities and its about time the Packers let him go. While SS remains a huge weak spot in the secondary. M.D. Jennings and McMillian have both played horribly. Thompson needs to address this during the offseason. seanbrock 1,684 Posted November 11, 2013 The Eagles defense is really lucky we were going against a guy playing in his first NFL regular season game. I miss Jim Johnson so much. I miss Brian Dawkins. I really want to see a defense that can at least tackle. Every game we have several, just really bad missed tackles. At least I didn't have to watch an entire of game of Mychal Kendricks again. He absolutely cannot start for this team next year. He is so terrible. I really can't stand the guy. He's fast. That's it. He's completely worthless otherwise. I think one thing we learned during this game was that Nick Foles is a solid QB. He does a lot of things very well. Love the way he moves pockets and I love how good he is at taking what he can get on the ground and making sure we're in manageable 3rd downs. Having said that it's pretty clear that his arm is not strong enough to be a starter in the NFL. We might win some games against some bad teams and make the playoffs, but we have to draft a franchise QB. Nick Foles is not the answer.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted November 11, 2013 The INTs were bad and lead us to a loss... But Scott played as well as he could have, IMO. He's been on the 53 man roster for less than a week, had no practice reps, and was running plays he didn't even practice yet.We didn't lose because of Scott, and I am confident we can win with him at QB. For a 2nd week in a row, we have played 95% of the game with a QB who wasn't expected to play at all. The Eagles made the splash plays on offense which was huge. They ran off the clock when they needed... Our defense, while I thought was mediocre at best.. Cost us yet another game. It's time for somebody on that side of the ball to stand up and be a leader...You can't give up that many big plays and expect to win consistently. The offense, while I thought did fine all things considered also couldn't convert drives into points. Too many times we marched down the field on what should be an embarrassed Eagles defense and couldn't finish the job. Also, the ball just was not bouncing the way of the Packers today. That fluky 1st TD... Jordy's "non-catch"... There were just too many factors playing against Green Bay today to come out on top. I am still optimistic.. For Scott Tolzien to go in there and play the way he did, which IMO, was exceptionally well (relatively speaking)... We can beat the Vikings or Giants, IMO... Quite frankly, the defense needs to learn to not drag us down. Also, Mason Crosby is a loser.
R8RNatioN 47 Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) Call me crazy but, I believe the score would have been a lot more lopsided if Seneca Wallace would have played the entire game. Not too shabby of an outing for Tolzien givin the fact that before this game, he had thrown a ball to a Packer starting wideout (maybe) a handful of times since he has been drafted lol. Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted November 11, 2013 See, I am not so sure on that. Seneca completed every pass he threw before getting hurt... I think he would have led a more efficient passing game down the field who could finish with scores. I don't think he throws two INT, especially one so deep into Eagles territory. I think we have a better chance with Seneca today... but, Scott has been named the starter moving forward and I have my full faith in him to win us football games.Even though it literally made me ill watching the Packers today, watching Scott play keeps me polishing hope.
