Imprisoned for nearly three decades for his fight against white minority rule, Mandela emerged determined to use his prestige and charisma to bring down apartheid while avoiding a civil war. "The time for the healing of the wounds has come. Paul Walker had a bigger impact on most Americans' lives than Mendela therefore it hits closer to home. RIP to Mandela. Learned a lot about him when the World Cup was hosted in South Africa in 2010. And he has an interesting historical relationship with the US. I've already come across a few blog and news posts today detailing the criticisms he had of America, as if it somehow makes him an enemy of the US. It's disgraceful.
