Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted January 15, 2014 The Vikings will hire Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer as their next head coach, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora confirms. This move wasn't unexpected as it's become clear in the past few days that Zimmer had become the team's No. 1 target. ESPN.com's Adam Schefter was the first to report the news. Zimmer has drawn a ton of interest in the past several years, interviewing for a half-dozen head coaching jobs, but for whatever reason, he's never landed himself a job. The prevailing theory was that Zimmer is too gruff and/or too honest in his interviews, and that attitude has turned off the various decision-makers. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24409806/report-vikings-to-hire-mike-zimmer-as-head-coach
BwareDWare94 723 Posted January 15, 2014 And now they're interviewing Norv Turner for the OC position. Minnesota quickly has a chance to become the best coaching staff in the North. Get these boys a quarterback!
BucD+ 648 Posted January 16, 2014 @AdamSchefter: Vikings and Norv Turner are close to a deal and league sources believe he will be Mike Zimmer's offensive coordinator in Minnesota. @alexmarvez: Source confirms @AdamSchefter report @Browns OC Norv Turner set to take same job with @Vikings. Milla4Prez63 678 Posted January 16, 2014 I like this hire. Zimmer is a guy who has deserved a shot at being a HC but kept being passed up. He's in a rough situation needing a QB though.

BLUE 1,026 Posted January 18, 2014 Per Rotoworld.com: Vikings hired ex-Browns OC Norv Turner as offensive coordinator. Turner is the second coordinator to leave the Browns this week after DC Ray Horton signed with the Titans. In Minnesota, he'll have complete control of the offense under defensive-minded HC Mike Zimmer and will be tasked with turning around one of the NFL's least effective units in 2013. The Vikings have major concerns at quarterback, but Turner's aggressive passing scheme should maximize the talents of Cordarrelle Patterson and Greg Jennings. He also figures to incorporate more of a run-first approach behind Adrian Peterson after ranking 27th in rushing offense with the Browns this past season. Milla4Prez63 678 Posted January 19, 2014 Turner with Peterson will be interesting for sure.
The Burfict Storm 39 Posted January 19, 2014 Zimmer would probably go for a cowbell RB than a QB right now. A good running game can help a mediocre QB.
OSUViking 505 Posted January 20, 2014 We don't have any mediciore QBs and we already have arguably the best RB in the league. I want a QB with our first pick, even if that means we have to trade up.
Guest Phailadelphia Posted January 20, 2014 Man, Zimmer has put together a nice coaching staff in Minnesota.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted January 23, 2014 With Norv Turner and the OC, the Vikings should take a ard look at Derek Carr imo. Almost perfect fit.
